Kiss -the best ACDC -the craziest(2nd row it was wild) stones, rem pearl jam all good bucket list-springsteen, doors or hendrix in their prime
I recently saw Flatbush zombies and it was unreal. Wish I could've seen bad brains, Sublime when Bradley was around, or Jimi. Would really like to see Bruce before it's too late, and dying to see pepper come to nj. Umphreys McGee was awesome this summer and splintered sunlight is always fun to go to inside the pony.
Too many to list, name a punk rock band from the 90's - 2000's and I've probably seen em. So much fun, all of em.
First concert at 14 was Kiss. A friends mom took us and we were laughing as the people in front of us rolled joints to her dismay. We had to make our way to the front to get blood spit on us by Gene Simmons. I saw Lynyrd Skynyrd 2 day before the plane crash in downtown St. Pete on my 14th birthday, fkin unreal. Lalapalooza 1 with Jane's Addiction, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Living Colour, Nine Inch Nails, Fishbone, Ice T & Body Count, Butthole Surfers & Rollins Band. I don't think that one will ever be beat. NINJA tour with janes and NIN, hence the name. Saw NIN with the pretty hate tour in a little club in tampa, rad. Suicidal Tendencies at Jannus, fkin crazy. Saw Israel Vibrations on the deck at Tamboo in PR. Lots more but those stand out for sure. Oh yeah, forgot about Burning Spear outdoors at Jannus in 2010. My wife from PR could not get over the fact that people were passing us joints right in front of the coppers. Hell also forgot Chili Peppers too many times to count but the best one was for spring break, Daytona on the beach when they got arrested after the concert for humping some chicks. Right as the show started this big titted girl on this guys shoulder ripped off her shirt and I got me some fun bags. We banged chicks on the beach on the Symyrna inlet. Good times all.
crue fest was pretty crazy, i went to a nickelback concert to see bush was like 17 made out and figure banged a 40 some yr old milf then got to drunk and thought she was too ratchet lol. ive been wanting to go to one for a minute now. it would be nice for some good reggae or something to come to savannah.
Metallica as a young teenager was epic. Reggae Sunsplash at the boathouse back in the day was always irie fun filled day with sooo many chickies running around. Lalapalooza twice....real fun Big Mele on Oahu by far the coolest venue. Set up on the mountain side looking over the East side/Full Ocean view.It does not run any more but here was the line up....I missed 95.The stage was down hill so you were looking at ocean then stage then huge sick pit with a cloud of dust over top. After a break from the pit, someone would yell and start running down the hill and the chase was on to da pit!!! 1993: Tool, Fishbone, Stone Temple Pilots, Violent Femmes, Primus 1994: Porno for Pyros, Blind Melon, Social Distortion, Chokebore, NOFX 1995: Rancid, Down By Law, Guttermouth, Face to Face 1996: No Doubt, The Presidents of the United States of America, Cypress Hill, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Dance Hall Crashers, Dishwalla, CIV[6] 1997: Wu-Tang Clan, Incubus, NOFX, Save Ferris, 311[7] 1998: Matchbox 20, Blink-182, Home Grown, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Candlebox, Long Beach Dub Allstars, Sunburn[8] 1999: The Offspring, NOFX, Bad Religion, The Vandals, AFI, Fun Lovin' Criminals[9] References[edit]
There have been so many! I've seen Pearl jam a **** ton, always good. Dave Matthews a **** ton. Fishbone was nuts! I either work Firefly or attend and I have seen some decent shows there. The energy at the Twenty One Pilot show was crazy. I am not huge into EDM, but Deadmau5, DJ Lazer and Steve Aoki were awesome!
Allman Brothers '73 ( i was only 15) Ted Nugent '77 (with tank!) Zappa Halloween Concert at the Spectrum in Philly Jeff Beck/Jan Hammer '77 or '78? Stanley Clarke/RTF '77 Pat Metheny outdoors '78
JayD... Wow, dude... killer. Top of my list includes Ramones outside on the football field at Rutgers (crazy and scary) Husker Du in the gym at Rutgers (bangin' good time) Bad Brains and CroMags in NYC (very hazy memory of that one) Mighty Mighty Bosstones (a bunch of times) Clash (the only British punk band I ever saw live) REM (a few times, before they turned Pop) Afghan Whigs (when they kicked ass, at a bar in Ann Arbor) Before that era... The Stones The Who Black Sabbath Very first concert ever: Blue Oyster Cult and Foghat
Right?! Always kicking myself for not going three summers ago when they came. I got into them just a few months after their concert
Shiploads of concerts over the years. Here's a few stubs I have. $8.50 for Zepp. GTFO. Three hours of lunacy. This was a three hour Bruce Springsteen show though it doesn't say. Darkness tour. I remember the floor was wildly oscillating up and down three stories above the underground baseball field. This concert destroyed the basketball court and indoor running track at Jadwin Gym. Almost all the bands you might like to see (in the mid '80s at least) all on one very hot day. .
^^^I was at Live Aid, too. I remember walking through the parking lot toward the stadium and hearing George Thorogood ripping it up. Felt like I got an adrenaline shot straight to the heart!
It was a long crazy day. First time I ever even heard of Run DMC. 100,000 white kids going 'WTF is this?' And the shambolic reunion of Zepp featuring trans-atlantic Phil. Surprised we didn't die of heat exhaustion. Good times.
Saw Zepp '77 tour at Capitol Center.. used to have one of the black t-shirts from the US tour .. wore it out... Pretty cool you still have the stubs. Also, nice topic Frothster. BTW, more swell concert info: http://www.swellinfo.com/forum/showthread.php?20434-ok-post-em-Epic-Concerts-You-ve-Been-To&highlight=concert Carry on ..
June 1984, on flight deck of USS Constellation at NAS North Island: Hank Williams Jr., Alabama, Waylon Jennings, et al.
forgot one took my daughter to see miley cyrus the same year she stopped being Hannah Montana..most everyone there was kids parents expecting to see the old miley..well there was a new girl in town, for sure wasn't nowhere near like she is now, but the looks on some of the parents faces when she was rocking up with the male dancers etc onstage....did score her a $5 tshirt in parking lot after show(always wait til after to buy, was $25 before the show).most the kids were upset that no Hannah songs were played... forgot about seeing U2 in Clemson,,nice setting for their concert
