Damn, that sounds awesome. I saw Waylon, Willie, and David Allan Coe around that time. One of the best I saw was Ziggy Marley in a ballroom in one of the casinos in AC for his Dragon Fly tour. There was only like a couple hundred people there sitting on the floor. I was right up front. It was like seeing Bob reincarnate. Surreal. I've seen the Allman Brothers a lot but I regret never seeing them with Duane still alive. Could you imagine seeing Duane and Eric Clapton playing together with Derek and Dominos? That woulda been something.
A few memorable ones, mostly 1980s: Husker Du Buzzcocks (these guys were so fun) Meat Puppets Pixies TSOL Ramones Circle Jerks Dinosaur Jr. Tiny club, mind blowing volume. Parts of my ears i didnt know existed were vibrating Pretenders The Cult Lush (Amazing - chicks playing 12 string Rickenbackers VERY loud) Zappa (he must have been having an off night - seemed pissed off and bored) Stranglers Janes Addiction Lou Reed Guided by Voices - Sam @ Dogfish is a GBV fan and brought them to little Milton Delaware for a show.
Good treade. This is all I can think of off the top of my head and by going through my collection. There's actually a lot more. X is for bands I've seen more than once, in some cases multiple times. H is for ones that by some strange twist of fate I got to meet and in some cases I ended up hanging out with. I'm no fanboy, it just seemed to work out like that sometimes. Not listed is probably an equal number of local bands I've seen and in a lot of cases played with. In no particular order... And for the guys that got to see Led Zep, esp. in their prime...despite all the great music I've been lucky enough to see, I'm jealous. Jimmy Page is the reason I picked up a guitar in the first place. ACDC Motley Crue GnR Van Halen Scorpions The Cult Ratt Dokken Queensryche Pink Floyd Stones The Who Grateful Dead (too many times to count) Allman Brothers x Eric Clapton REM U2 The Cure Korn Pearl Jam x Soundgarden x Queens of the Stone Age All the early lollapaloozas Jane's Addiction x Siouxsie and the Banshee x NIN x Ministry Mr Bungle x Fantomas Jesus Lizard xH Melvins x Metallica x Motorhead x Iron Maiden Rage Against The Machine Lacuna Coil The Sword x COC xH Pantera Mastodon x Ozzy Black Sabbath x Zakk Wylde\Black Label Society White Zombie Rob Zombie x Dillinger Escape Plan Ozzfest multiple times Slayer (had all access backstage passes once) xH Tool x Clutch (+20 times) xH System of Down xH The Black Keys The Reverend Horton Heat Alabama Thunder***** Helmet xH Fishbone Stone Temple Pilots Incubus Primus xH Sausage Gogol Bordello Secret Cheifs Porno for Pyros Dinosaur Jr. The Cult The Church The Presidents of the United States of America (first show they ever played, it was done as a joke, they never meant it to be anything more than one show) Cypress Hill Public Enemy Ice T Ice T and Body Count Snoop Dogg Tribe Called Quest Beastie Boys Big Bad Voodoo Daddy Cherry Poppin Daddies Squirrel Nut Zippers Blind Melon Phish x Widespread Panic xH Col. Bruce Hampton and the Aquarium Rescue Unit Eddie Brickell and the New Bohemians Violent Femmes Social Distortion NOFX Rancid Suicidal Tendencies Bad Religion The Mighty Mighty Bosstones Pixies Circle Jerks Butthole Surfers Alice Donut Rollins Band xH Hank Williams Jr Hank Williams III What can I say, I like music...

Forgot I saw Stephen Marley last summer on the day before my bday and was so Stoney balogna I had to escape to the boardwalk for $$$ food and drink. Good times
There were some other big names performing that night. Can't recall them all. Don't know how the ship pulled them all together for one concert. One heck of a show. That was my last month in the Navy.
