This guy gives a pretty good breakdown: "1:13 This fight's got everything. Conor goes for a double leg and Nate sprawls. This exchange just goes to show you how high level the Diaz brothers are on the ground. Conor has both hands clasped around Nate's thighs but as soon as he drops his right hand, Nate slips in his left around Conor's neck as quick as a hummingbird's wings. McGregor actually does the right thing here. He quickly steps over so that he's got Nate cradled a bit. This helps take the pressure off for a second, but Nate deliberately lets go of his right hand. Conor, thinking the coast is clear, swivels counterclockwise. He's out of the submission, but not the position. Now Nate has his upper body locked up in high side control, which allows him step over into mount with ease. Nate immediately gets leverage on Conor and lands some massive punches from the top. It's academic at this point. Nate shifts his right arm over. He doesn't squeeze, but instead lands a thudding punch. Then he slips his right forearm underneath Conor's chin, and the rest is 209 history." http://www.bloodyelbow.com/2016/3/7...z-sober-play-by-play-nate-more-efficient-with Also, this guy has excellent striking breakdowns. http://www.bloodyelbow.com/2016/3/7...g-the-storm-how-nate-diaz-beat-conor-mcgregor
Nate fought a great fight, unlike his brother I think he's getting better, fighting smarter. I listened to some of the press conf, McG will be alright. He was candid and honest about how he lost, and got most of it right. I'd like to see Nate and Dos Anjos and McG and Frankie. If McG beats Frankie (and I still think he will) have him rematch Aldo, if he wins that then see if he gets a crack at 155.
That's my take on it. MAn, I can't believe how even the most trained individuals will give their back given right circumstances.
Yeah I saw the same fight you guys saw, I just didn't feel like typing out every detail of the fight, can just watch the replay for that

I seriously hope that you're not comparing yourself to Nate Diaz lol Please tell us you did not just do that
Putting bort riding on waves aside, and vag, there is no better feeling than taking an opponents back, punching them in the face until they let theur guard down, then sinking the choke.
Depends on the individual. Wrestlers do it instinctively. Most wrestlers I train bjj with admit they have to fight instinct not to go belly down when someone gets mount. It's been ingrained in them for years.
Do you compare yourself to Connor McGeeagor? He eats meat. Not being condescending. Just proving to the doubters and haters that a plant based diet isn't inferior to one based on meat, and you can achieve world class status on veggies, fruits, nuts, grains, and legumes. Connor got his ass kicked by a vegan.
People seem to forget that Diaz has world class jitz, it's not like Conor got tapped by KJ Noons or someone with no ground skills. Diaz is a Gracie trained black belt, both of em. They are both capable of tapping anybody in the world.
I think everybody knew that from the get go. This is only going to make him a better fighter though, they're creating a monster, watch
Not calling you out homie but I didn't see much aboot anybody's ground game in the first few pages. It's ok man, anybody can beat anybody on any given day.
I think you're misunderstanding me Seldom. I never said Conor had a great ground game. I never really spoke much about the ground game because I figured that was a given. The fight was never supposed to make it to he mat, he was supposed to KO Diaz in the 1st. He did a damn good job of trying, put a good beating on him, but never could get the kill shot. I always said Diaz was dangerous and it wasn't an easy fight for Conor or anybody for that matter, he's a top 5 LW with great boxing and world class jitz, that's tough to deal with. Conor is an elite striker, which why he almost always wins by KO. I did mention that Conor's only two losses were by submission, basically noting that if he's going to lose, that's how he's going to do it. I guess what i'm saying here is, it's not a surprise that Diaz has a better ground game than him, he has a better ground game than most. And of course anybody can be beaten on any given day lol Just ask GSP about Matt Serra
Hahaha... That's awesome. Certainly a good argument for people that say you need meat to perform at a high level. +1 for the vegans
