Anyone care to share insight on the NE area... trying to camp out in Sept-October and surf up north. PLanning ahead so would love a consistent break not a pray for surf type of break. thanks
Belmar. period. end of discussion. also plan to work on your bench pressing over the summer if you want to fit in while fist pumping at Djais.
Camp at Fisherman's campground near Point Judith. Access to most RI spots within like 5 or 10 minutes. http://www.riparks.com/Locations/LocationFishermens.html
No plans as of now... I just want to surf and camp and not get skunked bc I didnt my homework. I was google earthing it to see what looked good and surf spot guides are not as accurate as I would like. Drving there so prob not Nova Scotia or anywhere my wheels cant take me. Leaving from MD/NJ
I'd head to Montauk NY. If there's swell it will be good. Great fishing if it's flat. And you can camp at Hither Hills
Always wanted to hit that spot up.. to fish and surf... but looking for something more adventurous... RI seems like an idea I may be running with... Thanks to all!
unless u have a reservation a year ahead not happening at hither hills... why not obx??? that'd be a no brainer in my mind
Been down south and never been up north... interested in change of scenery and not afraid of the cold. Also interested in the nooks and crannies of the coastline up there.
Yeah I don't think anywhere in new england is really consistent in summer but Montoak is probably about as close as you'll get?
aiming for end of sept or in October so hoping theres something then. Usually pretty consistent time of year for MD/NJ... I am going to look into montauk but was hoping someone was going to tell me about the place where you can camp and surf a consistent slab and fish and hunt wolves.... anyone know a spot like that?
Maybe Cape Cod National Seashore. You have northern exposure at the tip of the Cape, lots of eastern and southern exposure around Chatham, and lots of dunes and lots of places to camp. I haven't been up there in years, so you'll have to do more homework on that one. A 4 x 4, or at least a trailerable dune buggy would enhance your access to remote breaks. (I have no clue regarding the laws restricting beach access, dune buggies, etc., I just thought it would be cool).
Maybe our Mad Mannequin Masher from Maine can clue you in on the Jack Londonesque surf slab you seek.
There are no waves in the northeast. Ever. Go to California. Or Belmar! Yeah, that's close to you! And epic every day!
