    Whats up everyone?

A career in construction puts a lot of wear and tear on your body and so does surfing. Is it possible to surf through out your life and have a career as a carpenter. I am a full time carpenters helper. My job is pretty cool as far as jobs go but how many years do I have before my joints wear out?

I'm a full time electrician and can relate to joint pain an numerous other problems related to years of abuse. It's good that your thinking of this early in your career instead of waiting 20 or more years before starting to take care of yourself.

I don't see any reason why you couldn't have a long career as a carpenter and still be able to surf well into retirement. You just need to work smarter, not harder. Make sure to stay in good shape now instead of getting out of shape and then struggling to get back to good health when you get older. Surfing a lot will definitely help you to do this.

take care of yourself and you will be fine. having an active job may even help. my old man is a carpenter of 30 years. hes not into surfing but he can still rip pretty good on a dirtbike which is also quite demanding on the body. just dont be stupid and stay in shape. work smart not hard
