I've been hurt and unable to surf for the last year and a half, I'm finally getting healthy again and planning on going out tomorrow, yeah I'm stoked. I noticed that the zipper on one of my board bags is completely corroded shut. I guess it sat unused too long with salt residue and must be a cheap bag because my others are fine. I can't get it to budge, I sprayed some WD-40 on it but still no luck. Am I going to have to cut my board out or does someone else have an idea?

    Good luck!
Had to pull an old camcorder out of a book-bag that, that happened to..
Broke the zipper, ended up cutting the bag to get my camcorder out...

soak zipper in coke a cola or a few usually works , then after it gets loose , rub surf wax on zipper track lightly

same thing happened to me but the bag was empty.

go to boating store and buy "on-off". label says muratic acid but it's really hydrochloric acid (plus water). use a plastic spoon to apply like a drop or two. in 5 seconds you can unzip. in a minute the zipper is gone.

use the rest to clean rust stains off your single wide trailer or concrete. or just use it as rp method for cooking meth.

    GrantLee,

You gotta be a decision maker. Get that bag open and the board wet.

Serious question, what's your take on the Civil War?

I had an old board bag in the garage, finally got the zippere undonnne and a million ants crawled out and I had to get the hose quick, luckily they weren't fire ants, but it scared the crap out of me. Fu(k board bags! They suck!

You could always try water- or something water based, since it's salt the only thing that will really get it out is water.

Try it, if it doesn't work listen to the Tard and get acid

As far as stuff found around the house- you could also try mixing water and vinegar and then letting it soak into the corrosion

Use PB Blaster or penetrating oil. WD40 is worthless for stuff like that.
