Santa Teresa Hola - I've been a few times and the beaches are beautiful and quite empty. ST is a mix of rock ledges and salt&pepper colored sandy beach. To the south at Playa Carmen it's more sandy, and then there's a few more rocky outcroppings towards Mal Pais. Surfboards need to be padded since the rails and deck can get dinged easily, but bodyboards? Hope this helps. G
