Noticed this 6 inch or so crack on my rail. I can slightly feel it with my fingernail. Judging from he picture do you guys think I need to put resin over it and repair it? or is it too small and not deep enough for water to get to the foam IMG_2022.jpg

Definitely must repair that. Sand, two layers of 4oz, the smaller layer on the bottom, a larger layer over the top, fair, hotcoat, sand.

Suck on it, if you get salt water, you need to repair.

Or maybe a "I Learned 2 Swim @ the YMCA" bumper sticker would be more fitting

Take a chain saw to it, then fill hole with gasoline. Light a match swatch all the pretty colors!!!

I can't really see the picture to good. But regardless, what LBCrew said is the best way to go about it. If it was like half an inch I'd say you could get away using some suncure or resin or whatever (although LBCrews suggestion would still be preferred). But if it's 6 inches long I wouldn't futz around. Fix it right

Im no expert on board repair but Ive had a couple of cracks on a rail on some used boards I picked up and as long as the foam underneath is not damaged I always use Marine epoxy to fix them. It goes on great and you can sand it down super smooth once it drys. It is rock hard and wont suck water at all. Just use a very thin application and if you sand too much you can alway reapply. It blends in great with the white on the board and if you really want to you can tint it to match perfectly. Again no expert just my .02 cents

On the rail you've got to patch it with fiberglass. Resin won't add any strength, and if you don't get the strength back you're just asking to snap the board.

It's longer and harder to do, but definitely repair it properly with fiberglass like someone described earlier. It's not just about keeping water out; it's about recovering the compromised strength of the rail with a crack in the fiberglass.
