Obviously doesn’t count… but craziest place almost surfed was wave pool outside of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; on business trip last month, stayed at Sunway Lagoon Resort Hotel, was looking forward to the “World’s Largest Man-Made Surf Beach, backed by the World’s Largest Wave Churning Machine - Capable to churn out perfectly shaped waves up to the maximum height of 8 feet”… alas when I was there it was closed for repairs…

Playa Jobos in PR. That current and the takeoff right in front of volcanic rock. There's supposedly underwater caves there that people get stuck in as well.

    Waikiki!

Waikiki is definitely the craziest scene in my book. There's the "Michael Jackson" guy who always wears one glove, hat, and sunglasses, people with dogs, Hawaiians, Tahitians, people riding tandem, tourists from oklahoma and japan. It's so much fun, even if you don't longboard all the time, give Queens a go if you end up on the island. It's like social hour out there too, and almost every wave is a party wave, but it doesn't really matter too much because everybody is super cool. I've never surfed anywhere like it, though people have told me Malibu is kinda similar.

Probably the most out there was Le Virage, Dakar, Senegal. There is a little surf shop just up the road a bit where you can rent some boards. Ended up hanging out there alot. Wasn't that crazy, but a helluva lot of fun.

I dont think there are any caves. I remember snorkeling out by the rock at jobos on a flat day and I was lookin around for anything like that. People have gotten stuck on the other side of the rock though and have been smashed into it by waves. either way its unsafe haha

Haha... I remember jumping off on the inside of the cove and paddling around the rock and right as I paddled around, this huge 8-10ft face just comes right at me and it was either make it or get wrecked. Thankfully I made it...

Very cool!! I've been to Ft Point several times but didnt surf it. The guys were looking pretty agro. always wanted to. guys were catching some pretty amazing rides. I was actually driving to Santa Cruz to surf after I surfed out Sonoma County for a week where my brother lives. Crazy currents is right! Yo never know if your going to get sucked out to sea.
