What kind of physical training other than surfing do you guys do to stay in shape? I frequently do Crossfit WOD and Crossfit Football WOD now since I'm playing semi-pro.

Gym 2 or 3 times a week doing a mix of cardio and resistance training. Had a trainer come up with 3 different routines for variation... all "surfing-specific."

gym. i try to do a decent amt of shoulder, back and chest work to simulate paddling and popping up quickly. cardio is generally hiking.

going to try to put together a lower body conditioning routine for snowboarding, also. a lot of big trips planned this year..

Gym 3x a week doing full body weight training. I try and do a copule days of some type of plyometrics workout as well.... either after the gym or on another day. The plyo really gets your heart racing and keeps your reaction time up since its a lot of explosive jumping movements.
After that, usually some tanning and laundry.

Yeah, I started a thread on here already about Crossfit I believe...and no one was interested. I used to do it and was my favorite workout. Got me in great shape. Just hard to do it with no gym or a gym full of clowns.

I think you quit because your a lazy pothead  J/K! I could imagine it would be nearly impossible to do most of the WODs in a regular gym, not just because they wouldn't have kettlebells, medicine balls, olympic bumper plates, plyo boxes, etc. but also someone would be using whatever you set up or needed when you transitioned from one exercise to another. That would make it very aggravating.

Hahahha... I saw you posted and just had a feeling you would say something good. But it's all good. I was at one gym that it worked out fairly well. They had just about everything you needed for CF and I would go at times it wasn't as busy. People would see me run from one thing to the next doing crazy things and would always have to ask me wtf I was doing. But that gym was too expensive and out of my way.

And on the contrary to your statement... I'm a highly motivated pothead! :p
