Something I've been meaning to share on here for a minute, I know a few of you guys will dig this. Little snippet of a Terence Mckenna lecture...disregard the spacey soundtrack. I do believe the plants allow us to step outside of our cultural programming and reasses the dominant paradigms that we live by...

Read that a while back homie, good call. For the record, the 'movie' that was made with similar title has no affiliation with the book or Strassman's work.

As far as Terence material, Food of the Gods is the shiz.

I'm the dude sitting by the tree at 5:35.

Chief Piercing Eyes once told me that there is an intraspecies consciousness among plants of the same type. As they honored the sacrament, they addressed it. "The Papaya Mind" he called it.

Check out Hyemeyohsts Storm's "Seven Arrows", he has awesome illustrations as well as shamanistic symbolism and traditions interwoven into a really cool trippy journey.

the DMT thing is a bit too far out there for me. Not saying it's not legit, i'm sure it is. It just bugs me out a bit.

Craziest 15 minutes of my life. Everything around me except the trees looked like it was draped in graph paper.

Thanks fellers, glad you enjoyed. MIS, on it, Nature time for sure this weekend. Goose, geds, glad you fellers are on board. I don't know much aboot Nootropics IHL, the tryptamines recruited me early. Chich, The Spirit Molecule is based on a docotor's(Strassman, the author) work with DMT, in what were the first studies with psychedelic compounds since the early 60's(excluding CIA stuff). Circa early 90's. He was the first to make the connection b/t DMT production and the pineal gland. Castaneda's books were fun, but imo, helped reinforce misinformation.

Much more work has been done since, if you're interested in this stuff, look into the psilocybin studies from Johns Hopkins, NYU, and UCLA...some pretty remarkable stuff.

I used to listen to a lot of Terrence and he's pretty right on about his observation about the modern human condition, but his solution was always drugs.

The problem with DMT or Psylicibe is that it is more likely than not taken recreationally. most partyers have these earth shattering experiences and when the shyt wears off they go back to their system controlled lives never taking heed to the message. they might expand their awareness of what is possible or claim to be awakened b/c now they see the system for what it is, but they still watch TV and are still caught up in the ego of self only to shed that ego when they return to the drugs.

DMT is present in almost every living thing on earth. the human pineal gland produces DMT, but todays modern humans have extreme difficulty in its production for various reasons due to the calcification of the pineal gland and relying more on technology and less on their own brains.

another big problem is unlike the cultures of the shamans, most humans are far far removed from nature. and no goin surfing or hiking every other day don't count. these old cultures lived in a symbiotic way with nature and the use of these drugs was sacred and used rarely. a book called 'Left in the Dark' by Grahm Gynn touches on this and the human brains capability of expanded awareness by getting back to nature sans the drugs.

also another great read "beyond the Doors of Perception Plant Intelligence and the Imaginal Realm. Into the Reaming of Earth by Stephen Buhner. the book is about the symbiosis of all living organisms, their intelligence, and how to commune with nature.

Seldom, like you I an the guy sitting under the tree and I have visions and experiences like many of the pictures from the vid depict. only thing is I don't use any drugs to achieve that state.

DMT has some serious perks. I've experienced some trippy stuff after takin a hit of that stuff. Full on sacred geometric patterns appeared tattooed on my arms and legs....i was trippin out on it. But when you smoke it the visuals only last a few minutes. I kept tryin to make it last longer.

Hey archy. First point, I agree 100%. Like anything, misuse is possible, and all the 'hippies' I see crack me up b/c their primary source of alteration is alcohol with everything else stacked on top. My 5 gram doses were by myself in a dark room.

As to your second point, many paths I suppose. But I've always wondered about reaching the same states through meditation. I personally just can't see it getting that weird on normal brain chemistry, but then again I haven't tried.

What I also find amazing is even after a small dose experiene, I was getting all the benefits of putting a full five hours in for the next couple weeks.
