Anyone here Day Trade as a profession? Tried trading a few times and lost a little money but would love to do it full time. They say everyone loses the first one or 2 times around but who knows.. seems like the perfect combination with surfing, work when there's no swell, and work from home
hardly anyone makes money day trading. you need a huge amount of capital to make the plays work. People do however trade profitably from home by swing trading. basically instead of trading stocks everyday... you chart a stock, buy and hold for the short term move. I have done this with decent success on trades that range anywhere from 3days to trades that take a couple weeks to move howyou want them too... but I would say leaving it to the pros and going on with regular life/job is the smarter play.
This. Anyone that is smart enough to make good money trading is already employed with a big firm making millions. Not to mention, if you are day trading, you can't just up and leave to go surf if you tracking a market trend.
I have to agree with what everyone is saying. Unless you have a solid amount saved up your willing to use just trade on the short term. And I feel like doing day trading as a living would be a hard surf schedule with pre-trades starting at 8am and after hours ending at 6:30pm. Just open up a Scott Trade account and see what you can grow your first $500 into then go from there.
Have been in the financial industry for 20 + years and was a trader for most of them. Day trading is an extremely tough way to make a living, even with the best technolgy and information flow available. I have seen way to many people lose their nest eggs.
