This is the flatest week we've had in months . Swellinfo showing 7inch forecast for Sat. and below knee high for Fri. The west winds have killed any swell from comming in. Reschedule or refund.

I'm curious as to what will happen as the surf is flat without hope of any ride able surf for this event. I have entered and I would like to know if there is another date if the contest cannot be held or is there going to be refunds.
    Thanks

I have been on the telephone a good deal in the last few days but the promoter still wishes to run it so we are going with everything on Friday, not Saturday. 7:30 start as well. As the contest director, I wanted to postpone the contest but he advises that isn't possible for various reasons. So, we go on Friday and see happens...

I am not a fan of running any event in poor waves and tried to get a postponement. I have been really lucky in my career and this one does not seem to be melding for us. I really want to postpone as its in the best interest of the athlete and thats what I have always tried to do in pro events, or specialty events.

The surf will not be big enough to ride and this contest will be a laughing event around the surfing world. You can try to run it but, I will be looking for my money returned .
The minimum contest wave should be a least waist high. The prediction I see is below "One Foot"
Please give me the promoters information for a follow up.
    Thank You

If you think I want to run this event, you are wrong. I do not. As I said, I tried to get them to postpone it. All pro staff wants this. While waist high is not a valid gauge for east coast events, running it in less then one foot is not right. Again, I do not wish to run it but my hands are tied. If they say they cannot postpone, then all I can do is advise what the ramifications are, and what they can expect. I have done so. I have also advised that he could be hit with requests for refund

What a joke - the promoter just dosen't get it - no waves - no contest - no participants - no spectators. A bad event can have a lasting effect on future events. No one I know who entered or was going can believe this decision.
