I told you, make it a race issue and the parking thing goes away, never to return. The deal mooks just don't want Mexicans and blacks on what they perceive as their beach.

Problem with that is for one there are no Mexies or blacks showing up to the town hall meetings to voice opposition. Secondly in my entire life I've never seen anyone from either group there for that to be a part of the argument although that might change this year. And lastly the discrimination card doesn't work for white Christians.
    It's class warfare. Bottom line.
What I haven't heard from anyone here is that until the early 90's surfing was illegal in Deal. Thanks to a few arrests and the help of Surfrider that was abolished.
Now just as everywhere else there are more and more people every year.
I kinda don't even really care anymore. Deal is over run with kooks and bennys in the summer and I don't go there to hang on the beach in the summer anymore. And with the streets they want to restrict I never went there in the first place. I realize other streets will be next, but hopefully I'll be outta here by then.
This whole area has changed for the worse in the past 20 years and it's time to move in.

SLAP! Archy that's that blue pill shyte I don't want to hear come out of your mouth again. It doesn't matter that no minorities use the beach, that's never stopped whites from using the race card successfully. Everybody here including me needs to man up right now and stop drinking the tap water, it's shriveling your balls up.

I'm all for a good fight to stand up for what is right CF, but this area is over run by blue pill zombies, Manhattanites who think money buys local privilege, corrupt politicians who are bought and paid for buy both, and just overall over development. With that and the fact that i'm over the cold winters that it's time for me to move on. I'm not interested in fighting to bring back what was once a quiet unspoiled under the radar little chunk of coast that surfing and surfers forgot. The cat was let out of the bag with the advent of the internet and due to social media people are increasingly narcissistic. Long gone are the days of looking for someone to surf with during a 10' south swell and good peaks every 200 yards. Now it's a chore to find a peak to yourself and the options have been cut down to only a handful of spots due to beach replenishment, and the best spots are over run with every wanna be pro and their photog in tow. Case in point, Friday was the best swell around here in a month and the best spots saw dozens and dozens of guys from south Jerz, New York, Pennsyltucky, Monmouth U, and the wanna be GoPro Army.
Give me some warm water in an area where I can get lost in nature without effort. It's out there. Just not here. This place is beyond point of no return.

OK then Archy where is your paradise at? Might I recommended outer banks. Cali is dead. I surfed in HI a couple days alone, but would never live there, it would drive me crazy, I like to hustle. ( i love my city and am willing to fight to keep order ) In my home break I can always out position these kids, even if there are a ton of guys out. Plus if i want it, I can always find empty beach. I like the main break and became an unofficial enforcer, but I'm still kinda young, I like to rep. So Archy where is your paradise?

Ahh CF, I used to be the enforcer in deez parts, but I'm pushing 50 and hassling and crowds don't cut it with me anymore.
I have work in Hawaii if I want to pursue it. I've never been there but the allure of warm water and beautiful landscapes, and abundant nature is enticing. I realize at times certain spots can get crowded but as long as I don't have to put on a wetsuit, revolve my entire schedule around wave forecasts, and getting lost in nature is 1/2 hour journey i'm kinda considering it hard.
I have the options of Oahu, Kauai, or the Big Island. I'd move to Puerto Rico if I could, but there's no work there.
Still working out some stuff here in Jerz, but next spring/summer I'm gonna head out and do a little reconne. If I play my cards right I'll be outta here by the winter of 2018/19.
2 years ago I made a 5 year plan to move somewhere and opportunity has arisen, so lt looks like i'm a little ahead of schedule.
Oahu doesn't sound inviting to me, Kauai is still an option, but I'm kinda set on the Big Island.

Kauai has like 7 good surf spots max, but it's empty and no shadow in the winter. The big Island gets shadowed like a mug and the stars have to align to get good. Trust me oahu is a surfers wet dream but you are going to cry missing beach breaks. Hanalei bay on kauai is flupsing amazing and will remind you of home, with long beachbreaks and world class reefs on both sides and 1 in the middle. I surfed alone there everyday for 2 weeks during Christmas break. Don't move there blind, it's like ground hogs day, everyday is the same. I used to want to move to oahu but would rather shot myself in the face than be stuck in the middle of the Pacific with slow talking friendly people who love nothing more than to have conversations. If your from Jersey you might go crazy there, I know 3 weeks is my max before I start missing a$$holes and the cold weather.

P.s. eastcoast surfers don't know how good they got it and if your feeling frisky get on a plane and chase that dream. I go on a surf trip every year unless I'm on probation

Kauai sounds amazing. No crowds. Great weather every day of the year. Slow talking people who want to chat.
I'm in. The Big Island shadow don't bug me either. Give me head high year round and I'm fine. If I feelz for somtin bigger I'll island hop. Got friends on 3 islands and flights and tickets are shorter and cheaper to Indo, Austrailia. and South Pacific.
I'm over Aholes and the cold.
I travel and surf 1-2 months a year but I'd rather live and work in a vacation spot.

I hate boardshorts, give me snow and double overhead beach break rather than reefs and always sunny. I hate the sun and love overcast rainy short days. My dream spot is nazare or supertubes Portugal on a small day ( double to triple overhead ) in October, maybe France in November minus the French people.

Then you can find a surf buddy with a jetski.

France was and is still at the top of my list of where to live. November in France ain't sh*t. Not with the wetsuits these days. And you be wrong aboot the French people. Show respect and you'll get it. I've made some close friends in France.

I'm jealous, I wish I had France under my belt as far as surfing goes. I only go to HI. Water temp is not an issue anymore unless it's Ireland. I'm respectful in lineups, but also pretty aggressive too, it's called zen I think

I travel to France in October; looking forward to it.
But NOT to surf. After a few nights in Paris we will be in Provence, just relaxing.
Maybe, maybe, we will drive over to the west facing shore for a day.......

    7 good spots? Empty?
Agreed Hanalei area is amazing but I wouldn't call it empty by any means. I'd take a couple good waves in Hanalei on a good winter day than a year's worth of waves in NJ.
I think it's more like Hawaiians don't know how good they got it. Maybe they do...

Yea not the point by the castle on the hill, but the beach break. I get more barrels on a good day on the EC then a day in Oahu. Surfing everyday gets boring, why do you think Hawaiians surf big waves, they get bored.

Sounds amazing, B... But why October? Isn't it cold and rainy that time of year?
