I don't know. . I seems to have produced something somewhat profound to the extent that some of us might wonder who has taken control of blasters phone.. j/k General lee, speaking, we are sheep w/o a shepherd.
I actually am impacted in my industry. But I'm still fine. And so are all of my friends and they work in all different industries. Insurance costs more and it's annoying but that's about it.
Thats not the impact I'm talking about. There are folks who have lost everything, who have had to find a new line of work, or close up shop, etc., but I hear ya.
I get it. I just don't see it. Do you know loads of people that lost everything and it was actually the president's fault? I'm not saying it doesn't happen, just saying I don't see it.
I have talked to a bunch of clients on the phone about it, yeah. Some are full of sh*t and blame everything wrong in their life on Obama, or the government in general, others are legit. Also I have read about it here and there. Small business owners and people in the trade industries got hit hard.
I hear ya. I read the same stuff... I just don't see it much. I know a lot of small business owners and have friends in trade doing ok. 90% of my friends are doing way better financially than they were 10 years ago. And the other 10 are fuk ups... I'm not saying Obama had anything to do with it, I'm just saying he hasn't crushed our lives the way I always hear he has.
Something I noticed is, a lot of times they are in small towns, not the metro areas, that might be why you don't see much of it?
DP-SUPs point about metro vis a vis small towns is well taken. No economic shock absorption in less-populated regions, small towns & the like. When they get hit, they get hit hard. Metro areas have more opportunities, always have, including opps for recovery. Also believe that NYNJ's point is well taken in re Obama not crushing people's lives. Having said that, I do know that we the working stiffs are working harder than ever, and taking home much less, due to Obama. Two factors jump out: the 2% payroll tax that the feds just came along & took from everyone a few yrs back; and the almost 4% tax that everyone is paying for Obamacare. That's almost an additional 6% chunk taken out of your paycheck in a mere 5 yrs, and that's just to the feds. The state & local govts have followed the federal govt lead on taxes & increased all the 'little' taxes that you don't get to vote for. A person can brush it off like it's no big deal, but that's stupidity talking. Do the math. 6% of a $60k salary for 10 yrs is $3,600 that got taken out of your pocket - - in addition to the existing taxes, and those are already steep. You pay more, you receive less. Always the story with govt. This sort of thing is why people are angry. Justifiably so.
Very well said, much more factual than what I said, which was mere opinion and observation. Thank you for adding these important points.
Hey, guys! I was just wondering if I can still wear board shorts or should I get out a spring suit, or is it a fall suit in the fall? Does anybody make a fall suit? Could someone feel the ocean for me and let me know? Thanks in advance for your prompt and appropriate responses. Sincerely, Screwby of CB
