PIPE's heavy, clown. NOT Delaware, it's just a shorebreak.

It's all relative man. Most of us will never surf pipe so heaviness is a subject of our/my own perception. I would venture out and say you wouldn't call someone a clown to there face based on this statement alone (Delaware being heavy).

Secondly on the topic of relativity and subjectivity- this day, in the not so heavy Delaware, snapped several people boards. I personally have not seen head high mush break a board. However, solid head plus barrels, will snap boards all day long and provide a beating.

Pipe is ridiculous no doubt but thats not a fair comparison. pipe has nothing on big teahupoo - does that make pipe not heavy now? there are also many other boxy waves like ghost trees, the box, taz. these waves don't detract from the perception of each surfer who views his wave heavy,

    Respectfully, Clown

This wave looks like he barely missed his bottom turn and is trying to escape.

Yeah, i'd say the same but i'd like to add that he may have corrected his line and stalled and got deep inside, who knows? The pic doesn't tell the whole story, either way that's a serious f'ing wave, regardless of geographical location.

Just for the record, that's Ocean City, MD...very close to Delaware; 90% of the time way better than Delaware...but we do have our days, though they are few and far between.

dued Belmar f'n sucks!!iv never been to ocmd or Delmarva, but iv seen plenty of videos of some oversized doubleup slab on dry sand and it looks pretty f'n from nj and I can say it sucks.we get good days, less than 10 good swells a year.bayhead gets pretty thick, but always supercrowded with jerseys pros, whch are about 10.10 pro surfers out of probably 200k surfers in my state.theres towns in san clemente that have more sponsored kids on 1 block than the entire northeast.

anyway anytime u surf a hollow beachbreak boards will break.doesnt matter who shaped it,what brand, cheap or expensive, they all break.i buy all used boards since 4/5 snap during winter, then buy more in spring.if u can afford 10 boards at 799$ a piece, well godamn u should be in Hawaii.most expensive board I ever bought was 350$ and it was a gift from a girl.cheapest board I bought was 25$ and I still use it to this day.has so much ductape on the thing u couldn't tell wtf it is lol.i have a six sense for getting pounded, and that's how most my sessions go helps to surf without a leash so your board doesn't snap under the lip instead of flying away, but on this wicked medium south swells,a lot of waters movin around and its hard to get in without catchin a wave in,so u spend a good 10 minutes trying to get blasted to the beach, only to get recycled and take a few more 6footers on the head

in regard to that OCMD bomb wave posted, again. i believe his name is Drex Harrington. >>>>he is way better then most, of you/us. believe it.

And if it was heavy in Delaware on Weds. i would suspect you would not have seen so many people in the water. Just saying<<<<

Oh i believe it, every area has it's day, I bet even Georgia has a heavy wave that happens once every so often, sh*t even the Gulf has it's shining moments, very rare, but it happens.

and the legend of lower slower continues... it is real, but few have seen it, few have scored it and very few give it a try on size, IMO/from what i have seen. There have been times when you could look south and not believe the size and weight of the sets coming through. When it is like that, {not 0ften ;)} ,,, 12-15 people max move like 8-10. there is a reason for this! Got to love talking smack about IRI.

Last week in Delaware was pretty damn good, but it definitely gets way heavier.... scary heavy. It was real crowded, but most of the people were just out there floating around, handful of guys on the peak.... and of course the jet ski dropping in on people. And that pic is Drex in Oc back during the Hurricane Noel swell, hell of a surfer.
