The Delaware chaper of the Surfrider Foundation is circulating a petition to get a dedicated plate for the Surfrider Foundation. It will feature the Surfrider logo.
We are seeking 200+ signatures from interested Delaware drivers. The cost will be a one time fee of $10.00 which goes to the Delaware Department of Motor Vehicles to cover the cost of the plate.
The petitions are currently availible at the following locations:

    Surf Bagel & Deli, Lewes
Quest Fitness, Villages at Five Points, Lewes
Quiet Storm, Villages at Five Points, Lewes
    Quiet Storm, Rehoboth Beach
    Sierra Moon, Rehoboth Beach
    Dogfish Head, Rehoboth Beach
    Arena's Bar, Rehoboth Beach
    Liquid Board Shop, Rehoboth Beach
    East of Maui, Dewey Beach
Fenwick Island Surf Shop, Fenwick Island

People who are interested purchasing the plate when it becomes availible are urged to sign up. Please do not sign the petition unless you are going to purchase a plate.

I have a picture of the proposed plate we will be submitting to DMV if anyone would like to see it I can email it to you. Or someone could tell me how to post a picture to the site.

    Mahalo.

I am interested and will offer a suggestion. Why not have an online petition? Unless there are waves it is unlikely that I make the hour plus drive to the beaches.

    Thanks

Why not the entire east coast? Or NJ, NY, FL, NC, VA, MD?

    Because. . .

MD Chapter has had them for a couple of years already. Leastways for those who feel the need to advertise that "they ride."

    Coastal & Environmental

The California Coastal Commission ruled in February that the proposed 16-mile toll road extension did not comply with state environmental standards. The federal hearing is part of the Transportation Corridor Agencies' appeal of that ruling. Environmental groups, including the Surfrider Foundation, Natural Resources Defense Council and California State Parks Foundation, oppose the road extension because of the effect it would have on habitat and because of its intrusion into a state park.
