Anyone ever ride one? 7' single fin new from Whiskey Militia it was the "current fix" are they any good? $480 shipped brand new. DIMENSIONS Height: 7'0" Nose: 17 7/8" Width: 22" Tail: 15" Thickness: 3 1/8" Fins Included: 9" Single Fin CONSTRUCTION- TEC http://boardworkssurf.com/dewey-weber/
I have one and it's a blast to ride in clean lined up surf. Holds well in hollow waves too. Mines PU so can't speak to the Tex construction but the shape is a classic. I definitely recommend it.
Thanks for the reply bro- anyone else? How big are you? I'm 6'2" 198 this board is a 7'0" single fin you think it would work on waves like the last 2 swells here in Jersey with my winter gear on? Thanks- Mark
I haven't surfed Jersey but I lived in Hatteras and would take it out on clean bigger days and I was all smiles. I had a 7' and now have a 6'8. I'm 5'10 205. When I listed the 7' for sale I had a lot of interest immediately. I think that speaks to the quality of the board. I missed it so much I ended up replacing it a few years later. It's not about snappy turns or airs. It's about long smooth bottom turns and trimming in he pocket. The 6'8 is slightly more responsive than the 7' was but I'd love to have my 7' back.
Thanks brother I needed to make sure these had some good groove and flow to them if you know what I mean. Appreciate the time. -Mark
Interesting technology... similar to other composite skins... but with those three PVC foam stringers, wrapped in fiberglass, and laminated to the deck skin. Sounds like they're there to provide some stiffness and flex return instead of wood. I've worked with divynicell stringers before, and fiberglass stringers, but never PVC encased in glass. Looks like they're after the toughness of a surftech type construction, but with a more poly-like feel. As for the shape... I don't ride many single fins, and I don't ride many mid-lengths, but it looks fun!
3 1/8" thick 7 foot board is pretty extreme. I wonder why they put in so much volume? Seems way outside of most surfers preferred range. I know I can't surf a board with that kind of thickness.
