Is that the same one that went off its anchor chain a while back and drifted all the way down to the Bahamas or some such place?
I dug up the old thread, back when we first noticed a couple of buoy's adrift. Looks like they were different ones. http://www.swellinfo.com/forum/showthread.php?3991-buoys&highlight=Buoy 44001, was replaced last year, and 44004 (hotel), seems to still be missing as far as i can tell.
Ya, 41025 is a really good buoy for the Outer Banks and a good indicator for south swells heading north. Glad it is back, and it helps with the forecasts!
