i'm on the lookout for a board with a squash tail for a trip im going on in august. I already have a 6'8" squash and a 6'4 swallow, but i want a 6'6 squash to complete my quiver. I see a diamond tail on CL for sale but never rode a diamond. Much of a diff?

Diamond tails ride like you are on a shorter board than you actually are. They shorten the rail line so it allows you to ride a 6'0" that say rides like a 5'8 or 5'10. But other than that doesn't really make a difference between the two.

A little less planing area in the tail and a shorter rail line. Some people say they can't tell the difference. Some people can.
