99% of the time, I'm on the LB. It was made in Hawaii, and it has the features to handle some big surf. If it is HUGE and breaking top to bottom and fast, then I'll ride my gun, but it has been in the holster for quite some time now, as the LB is pretty damn intense in big surf.

Gotta give a warning to any of the loggers that don't do shorter cues in overhead surf. I get blokes every year that love the narrow tail multi fin logs and crease or snap them on surf trips or the big days at home. Always the same story too. "Don't know what happened, just reeled it in after a crash and there was only half there". No matter what the construction combo is all will bust on the end of a rope in the pit. Suspend it by the tail on the inside at the end of a leash perpendicular to the swell while you swim through sets will taco your log. We have even tried to move the leash plug to the rail farther up to maybe have the board sit more sideways while they are getting worked. That's one reason why those crazies at Puerto Escondido, Mex don't use leashes. But a log on big surf is pretty damn fun though. Just remember to kick out and don't blame the shaper when it folds.

I hear ya. This one's pretty tough. It has lived through 20 years of surf!!! It has a fanned triple stringer like the old Surfboards Hawaii "Model A". The outer stringers are 1/8" and the center is 1/4".

I've never traveled with it, just surfed between LBI and Frisco.

My buddy repo'd the log I was using. It looks good sitting in his garage collecting dust. Not a big deal, it wasn't the greatest board.

So I've been Craiglisting it looking for a while now...Need one back in my quiver, esp. the way things have been lately down here.
