haha. but seriously, there were soooo many people on here a few months ago preaching doom and gloom about beach closures and I'd love to know what happened????
Yeah everyone started to freak out ( I dont blame them ) and nothing made it to NJ at all Actually last weekend you could see all the way to the bottom at wildwood the water was so clear
LOL. Most people never said it would get to the Mid Atlancit, but I'm willing to bet the dispersants are already around the Florida area. The biggest concern is these chemicals which even the EPA says are cancerous. This is the same EPA and FDA who passes other horrible chemicals for human consumption. Please just watch the Black Wave documentary about the Exxon Valdez spill. They also said the oil was all gone, LOL, LOL, LOL and the documentary still shows that oil is still showing up on shore and the horrible affects of the chemical dispersants on people including paralysis and nervous system issues. BP is following the same logic by saying the oil is gone. What a joke! They have used these chemicals to push the oil under water for PR purposes. If you don't see the oil then the spill doesn't appear bad. What an illusion while all the oil is in plumes under water. I guess this oil just disappeared like a fart in the wind. The crazy thing is that Americans will buy this bull**** just like they believied bull**** about WMDs, that the financial system would collapse if we didn't give them $700 billion, just like we would be out of Iraq and Afghanistan is a just war, just like the Gulf of Tonkin incident and just like our vote really counts (when both parties are controlled by corporations in this fascist country). I'm grateful that the oil is not flowing at the earlier rate but it should never have happened. The BP board of directors have to be tried for the murder of 11 individuals and violating the Clean Water Act. How come the poor always serve time for minor penalties but CEOs of large corporations who ruin millions of lives are never held accountable. If Bin Laden earned BP he would have never been held accountable for his crimes. Wall street is another story. The banks that received TARP funds have ruined more people's lives than the entire Bin Laden clan yet we don't do anything to them. They should be tried just like a terrorist. They are actual financial terrorists which some people believe cause more harm than murder. The rich can get away with anything while the actual other 99% get ****ed.
hahahahahaha. I knew the same chicken little's would keep harping on some other issue. It's not the oil, NOW it;s the dispersants!! OR when faced with egg on their faces they change direction and rant about something totally unrelated. the lesson children is to THINK before you panic and get hysterical. If there is enough info to warrant panic than ACT. Not though childish rants and useless political posturing but through money to groups that directly help the affected people or better yet, go help resolve the problem yourself. lol....sheeple
LOL. Talk about sheep, you're part of the herd. You actual believe the medicine the media, BP, and govt are feeding you that billions of gallons of oil just disappeared. Basic logic and science tell us the opposite. Salt water weathers it and causes it to evaporate, lol, yeah. Tell that to the people in Alaska now. Time will tell. Hopefully people will wake up and start helping. Because BP and the govt aren't going to do anything and will just let it turn into another Valdez. So, I agree people have to help each other because these rich CEO's don't give a **** about anyone but their pockets. Oh and the dispersants won't have any affect on the seafood. So people will eat it. I for one will not be eating seafood for a little while now. They will say it is safe just like they said the water was safe in Toms River.
Yeah, I think people were a bit to alarmed by all of this. But in my opinion, I am worried about the midatlantic in 4-5 years from all this. Even smaller traces of oil, making their way slowly up into the chesapeake bay and stuff would be a disaster... I am just saying, no on is out of the clear yet. The is just hitting the GUlf coast. It will take a while for it to affect the atlantic east coast, but dont get it confused, it will be eventually. The exxon thing is a perfect example. 20 years later, that entire strecth of ocean is dead. I mean dead. The fish never came back. The whole eco system changed and will take probably 1000 years to correct. Who knows... That Santa Barbara spill affected the whole california coast as well. Also covered up for PR.... But There have been plenty of times that I have picked up Tarballs on my feet walking down on the reefs and sand on the cliffs. I know that it was a long time ago, but i would for sure link the two. Even though it was hundreds of miles away, it affected everyone... So, Im not on the super alarmed side, but im not on the blind side either.... All the PR in the world will never fix this. Wait 5 more years until everyone who has touched the water in the gulf started ending up in hosptials, suing BP, suing the feds.... suing suing suing... People will probably die from this, not to mention cancer etc from all of the chemicals AND oil that people are being exposed to.... And all the clean up workers will end up sick in a few years.... We will be eating bad fish, so please cook your fish well done from no won. Im just saying, im no scientist, but to think that we just dumped like a billion gallons of oil into the ocean and we are in the clean is crazy to me. This may not be a problem in MD or Jersey now, and I hope it wont be... But we will all revisit this idea next summer, and the one after that.... And we will be talking abotu all the strange and different patterns of fish, and sharks and jellies and sea life and how ALL of our local ecosystems will be affected by this.
In all seriousness though, I just got back from Roadanthe and the three of us who went all got sinus infections. I thought that was a little odd, though we were in close quaters, so that could explain it.
I get sinus infections all the time even with clean water. The docs tell me that sand and other things in sea water can inflame your sinues leading to infections. It's pretty standard for surfers to develop chronic sinus issues.
I get sinus infections often, but recently I have been using a Neti Pot to clean them out. Especially after surfing. Check it out, it might help. I seriously doubt that any of the 4.9 million barrels of oil will be detectable anywhere near the mid-Atlantic in the future. That might sound like alot of oil but when compared to the amount of water in the Gulf it is miniscule. The gulf contains 643 quadrillion gallons of water. Now don't freak out on me about this not being a disaster. It is. But it might not be the apocalypse that some thought it to be. http://www.csmonitor.com/Environmen...not-gone-close-to-half-may-still-lurk-in-Gulf
