Yea a good dremel tool + accessories is essential. You have to be extremely careful though, i usually dont even cut all the way through the glass, just deep enough that i can tear it away with a utility knife like perforations on a sheet of paper.

I only used Q cell when i was fixing my poly board, the epoxy repair kit i got didn't come with any...should I use it, I have some from fixing my other board...

Q-cell is compatible with either. If the hole is like 1/2" deep or more I'd use it. You can add q cell until its a thick creamy consistency and then spoon it into the hole until its roughly even with the surrounding deck. You can get creative with packing tape, or taped down wax paper to mold the resin around rail dings and fit the board shape perfectly. The resin will set up just fine under the tape or taped down wax paper but don't pull the paper up until the resin is set rock hard. Remember - epoxy resin likes it WARM. Dont leave the resin in your cold ass garage, get up and do the repair outside in the morning this time of year and expect it to set up anytime soon - it wont.

Found a nice little video series on ding repair.
It's broken down into a bunch of 1-3min sections.

    1st video in the series

Just be sure to do good prep work and make sure the area is clean before you do the repair. I have always used Sun cure and have had some really good reults with it. I use the mix stuff when its cloudy out. Sanding should be done is steps with a final wet sand for a Glassy smooth finsh

can you explain exactly what you mean by wet sanding?

The answer may be obvious but im not sure how to do it. or may there is a video somewhere that explains it that i havent found. Thanks Matt Johnson, or whom ever answers.

Check out the video series I posted above (2 posts above yours).
Toward the end of the series (might be the last one or two) the guy goes over the last sanding & polishing stages.

Wet sanding is just taking fine grit sandpaper...usually 400 grit or finer...600, 800, and doing a final sanding of the repair area sprinkled wet with water. it gives the repair a glossier finish.

omgd those pics are huge and blurry....

    greatest ding tool ever?

get a little stone grinder on the tip and router the bad fiberglass out...

fill with epoxy and layer glass cloth. Use Q-cell to fill larger voids, mix it with epoxy.

sandpaper in 80, 220, 320, 620, 1000 ect use water at high grits

I use this sun cure product

70 % of the time I use sun cure . I have had good results with it fixing rail dings and gashed in the top and bottom of boards. I have heard of guys using it to fix broken boards too but I never tired that

whats the difference, between sanding and laminating resin. when i have fixed dings ive always used laminating resin. I've never used a final coat of sanding resin.

My ding repairs have always held up well. Never Yellow or anything like that.

Whats the difference, not in material but in results, by using sanding resin as a final coat?

Laminating resin doesn't have a wax agent so that way it can be sanded. I would never fix a ding with just laminating resin. How do you even sand the repairs? Laminating resin gums up the paper and does not have good result. You should laminate your cloth on then apply a sand coat over top.
