Roy... you an I have VERY different ideas about where we want our boards to take us. Just as you have zero interest in "tricks," I have zero interest in your idea of "efficiency." That's a matter of personal preference, and not up for debate. And I'm not implying dishonesty... you made a statement about competition, and I assumed you meant competitive surfing... in which case you'd be wrong. Not necessarily dishonest... just wrong. But I guess we have different meanings for words like "compete," "functional," "detrimental effects on surfboard design." I guess you could say we even have different meanings for the word, "surfboard."

 

Exactly. Roy doesn't sound like any longboarder I know. Walking the board, noseriding, and big turns is about all you have with a longboard. It doesn't take any skill to just ride a wave with a LB.

I love his excuses. If I am paying that much for a board, it better be stable and easy to ride.

$528000.00 each? I saw on TV that 50% of the tower surf company sold for $150,000 + royalties on every dollar made by the other half.

For $528000.oo I would expect your entire business, all of it's assets and patents, all of your personal assets, and your slavery for the next 30 years. Heck, even then I'd just opt for early retirement and spend my days riding sub $1000 boards that I can actually turn on. That guy in the video looks like a normal 1st street kook, I'd value the board just like any custom made log; between $600 and $1200. Back to the drawing board, broski...

Don't feel ganged up on here, even though I think you may like it a bit. Your claims aren't backed up by the footage you've provided and are very opinion based. Your board's very dynamic design has a very static range. So there's one of two things happening here... Your boards are very well suited to get into the pocket or the steep section of the wave and stay there or your skills are limiting the board's potential.

Do you have any footage of anyone else surfing your boards to compare different styles? When I watched your videos there is a whole lot of unused real estate on the waves with no attempts to hit the lip or put a good bottom turn in there. Is this limitation due to your abilities or is the board unable to perfom like this? A more talented surfer may be able to push the board harder.

Basically, from what I've seen you have a quiver of very expensive and unique "go-fast boards." Which is great if that is what you're looking for and obviously it is from your comments lately. Unfortunately, the majority of the surfing community is looking for more than a sled. Personally, I like a "go-fast board" too but I want to be able to trim and carve and use the whole wave.... I'm talking rollercoaster over monorail.

Have to say that Liam is making sense to this po' boy who can't afford 528k for a friggin longboard, now or ever.

BTW, I dug a bit on the 'Net & most of the 'reviews' are just land-locked ravings of the rich & goofy on websites like hauteliving.com (the name alone...).

 

Has no one picked up on my post this is not Roy Stuart but a troll who signed up as Roy Stuart to have some fun, lol. If it is Roy Stuart is there a volume discount? If I buy 3 do I get the 4th at half price?

But seriously. Has he ever sold a board? I can't imagine one person has ever paid $1.3M for a board. I don't care how lame they are and how awesome they think the board is...

 

Zippy, I think it's pretty obvious that this is a posting troll... but even so, the responses should hopefully make their way back to the real roy as the idea of the board being that expensive derves the originator to hear it.
