You are 100% wrong.

Many turns are shown in the videos.

Why do you post such misinformation?

Of course one has spray, but the idea that throwing more spray is a performance goal is a celebration of inefficiency which has become a tradition due to contest trick surfing and magazine still photography.

Skating on ice produces less drag than surfing on water, the fact that less material is thrown during an efficient turn on ice than on water is evidence of this greater efficency.

Yes, but they move less material and this is one reason why they experience less drag.

My boards are generally faster, handle better, and have superior wave making ability over a wide range of conditions.

That means that they have superior performance in every respect except trick surfing.

You are stuck in the limited modernist paradigm so it is unsurprising that you cannot understand this, but it is somewhat surprising that you post misinformation by saying that my boards do not turn when the evidence that they do is before your eyes.

I rode shortboards for 23 years and spent many of those years living at one of NZ's best pointbreaks, I know what it feels like and much prefer to do what I'm doing now... more importantly although I've experienced both sides of the coin you have not...

If that is all you are seeing you are as blind as a bat... and I remind you that you don't know what it feels like... there's nothing like being in control of a 13 foot Makaha..... sure I make it look easy, and it can be easy, but the rush of riding such a long fast board, carving with such a long rail, experiencing the phenomenal acceleration and controlling the beast is incredible.. I wouldn't swap it for all the shortboard moves ever done. Even the sound is out of this world.

Ironically many of the pioneers rode using a similar stance to mine, and used pintails of similar length.... both Tom Blake and Duke knew that heavier boards were faster and Duke preferred Olo boards to shorter types... said he rated his ride on the 16 foot olo in Castle surf higher than his Olympic swimming gold.

You don't know what you are missing out on.

How ironic that you say that and yet try to prescribe the nature of that expression... thereby making it generic and less personal.

Prescribing rules for self expression is a self contradictory modernist paradigm.

Shortboard moves? ... Been there, done that.... what i'm doing now is so much more rewarding, but there's no compulsion for you to partake.

Yes you have, in fact most of what you have seen can't be replicated on a BIC or any of the common longboard types.

Build one if you want to ride one cheaply.

There isn't one, except that it suits us to price them thus.
