HAHA, Chuck and I never really had a conversation before, thought I'd give it a go and see if he's for real, which it seems he is. Steve83 not so much....
Is there something in the water in New England that creates the unbearable lightness of being a toolbox? My bad, Chucky Boo! Someone, anyone, break out the lathe & carve a wooden gnome-perching-plank from a small redwood tree .... step up & lay claim to the virginal voyage, emass8'.... shaper & rider could fist each other, uh, spelling, fist bump each other as the rider rips wave after 8' clean Cape Cahd mackin' waves! I'm looking forward to the vid. Just like the vid that 'steve83' was gonna post (what happened to him? did admin infarction him for inadmissible fictional works? for plagiarism?) or was that gnome de plume part deaux .... I get confused so easily these daze by all the chaff.
Yankee loosen up a bit your starting to worry me, I seriously doubt Steve 83 is fake.. There's a picture of him in his lawn doin the good ole Roy pose with his home build and self designed parallel profile olo. If you look at the picture his lawn is densely forested with what appears to be scrub pine which is indigenous to the mid Atlantic states, so that would make sense seeing how he's from the Carolina's.
On another note regarding my footage of any of the boards I built including the soon to be revealed built by me designed by Roy board the makaha olo, simply visit my YouTube channel and await its upload. No promises on when this will happen.. Need some surf first but I think you guys get it.
Really...? Well, call it like you feel it, chrome dome. I jest with chucky boo, you take it as serious criticism of his, and your'n, wood, er, wooden sticks, er, wood plankes.....dang, let me clean that up a bit! Before you take it all serious & stuff and ughhh, no please stay in Georgia where the men are men & the sheep know it.
Agreed on steve83. Although the prez of steve83's fan club chapter may well be the shining noggin of clemson surf. More power to those country boyz! I just read this. I'm starting to sound like SJB. Not good. No dis to Billy. Take it away wayne hijacker, emass8' and clemson. God save the king.
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=sjb Yankee I wouldn't say your an SJB unless you have another meaning
Ahhh, chucky or gnome or whatever you think your nom de forum is..... You sit in Penobscot or Greymouth or wherver the Internet permits you to claim as 'home.' You have professed a preference for wood. (yikes!) You haven't posted much of substance. You like to (try to) bait people on this forum. You enjoy talking about wood boards which you say that you'll build....but you have not built. I'm just an observer, sparky, really. Let us know when you have something intelligent to post. I'm keen to see! Big fan of chucky aka gnome. And, chucky.....? Until a person understands the wisdom & the history of SJB on this forum, it's not cool to post up one's uninformed opinions about a legend. Kinda talkin' above one's pay grade, one might say. Peace & Pendleton wool, kid.
I will point out here, for the record, that upon the morning of Chuck's big surf at Gooch's, for which I told him I would be there....I was, and I didn't see any 6'6" wooden chubs floating around. All morning actually. Not saying anyone is fake, I just am noting his absence after declaring his intended presence. Or maybe he calls post 11 am "morning". Only relaying my own experiences, DISCLAIMER, before any wood board lovers crucify me for my "doubts".
Faceless anonymous fat bellied trolls ... one would hardly waste nails crucifying them for their vapid opinions.
Like I said in my thread featuring the build of the 6 6 parallel profile chub id either be at gooches or York. I was at York beach at first light in the cutty sark corner where it usually works nice, but as you'll recall that Saturday morning was an awful underpowered wind swell and the 6-6 struggled with every other short board.
Clemson is real, and I believe him that Steve is real. Steve may be a weirdo, but he does appear to live here in SC. I just don't think he is a very good surfer, and he was trying to use the board in the wrong type of waves. Despite what some people think, there is no such thing as a board that is perfect for all waves. I think Steve's schooner is better set up to ride clean waist/chest high waves without steep drops. Not exactly what we see here in SC very often. Steve really should have that thing out this week.
Jeez Roy, what good is my taking the time to write a disclaimer if you're going to ignore it! Charles, I only now went back and saw your follow up post on that thread about goochs, so it's all good. I have faith in you anyway, man, you seem to know a bit on New England surf locales. Just fanning the flames and having some fun, everyone cool out now....
