lol, that is true about the Roids! I used to work out at a gym and a guy that I knew there was always trying to get me to bulk up. I told him I didnt want to get too thick because it hurts your surfing. His reply, "what are you a surfer boy or a muscle man?" lol. This was back in the early eighties though so not sure if things have changed since I moved away to Maryland 15 years ago.

Well, Blasters, because Jersey, like other states such as California and Florida have plenty of mid-sized and big cities, but they also have tons of small ghetto towns and stuff. So, the urban thug influence is present everywhere. Even when deep in the Pine Barrens you are never more than a 15-20 minute drive to some street thugging action.

Also, there exists a large population of white trash in Jersey. So, the disenfranchised adopt the rap/thug/drug lifestyle as a coping mechanism to their status in the world.

The more urban an area, the more angry people are. Like, the Appalachians are poor as heck, but they ain't shooting the block up everyday.

Jersey is rough, man. Only the strong survive.

Maybe we get a bad rap from the media and reality TV, but Jersey has way more to offer than most other states. Metropolitan cities? Check. Rural farm towns? Check. Wilderness forests? Check. Small town suburbs? Check. Miles and miles of surfable coastline? Check. Forget the 'roid-full iron pumpers and uber-bronzed ladies-of-the-night, if you ever learned enough critical thinking skills to say screw the reputation, maybe you could see past the few smog-filled exits on the Parkway and enjoy a beautiful state for what it actually has to offer.
