The ET's are out there, maybe they are the "gods" of our forefathers... I believe they have been here/are here now... and its so secretive because of the crippling effect it would have on society as we know it.

Think about it, ALIENS are real... religion is now a bunch of mumbo jumbo, people go bizzark because morals and values would go out the window with religion (they shouldn't, but the probably will lol) and then everyone freaks out that the gov. was lying to us this whole time etc etc.

Whats funny is, probably don't need aliens to be "real" for any of that stuff to be true hahaha. Anyways, is any one familiar with the drake equation (no not the rapper)... check it out.

You have to take into consideration that these beings have been around for probably far longer than mankind. Think of the achievements we have done in the past 200 years- and we FIGHT with each other non stop. Imagine a united race with 10,000 years, or even a millennium head start? It is no question they are superior to us in intelligence.

oldsoul, did you read the thread? about 20-25% of the posts mention the drake cakes, list the variables and question the variables and then it degenerates into cat fighting.

Anyone who says no aliens at all: absences of proof is not proof of absence....I am not saying you are wrong, I am saying from an epistemological point of view, you cant prove yourself correct

I mean, so if these aliens are ancient and still here hiding in underground bases, are they reptilian hybrids here to force us into a super oligarchy? That seems to be the leading conspiracy theory with the alien nutters

LOL nah I just read the first and last page and then posted hahaha

I dont think its a reptilian race underground, I think the ET's got us going on Earth, and come back every now and then to see whats up. And maybe if we are smart enough one day they will be like "okay lets talk to these guys and take it to the next level."

Apes have 48 chromosomes and we humans have 47.. Except for Yankee he's got maybe 43 ish

But if you look at the human chromosomes compared to apes we appear to have some mutation in our DNA maybe put there by god.. Or maybe just the greys did it who knows. God very well might be the greys.

Either way I'm convinced aliens are real, I've had a few encounters one of which I posted on the first page of this thread. Maybe that's why I'm so F ed in the head.

I'm getting the sense that most east coast surfers are college educated nerds which is cool. U guys are great.

my thoughts on ET's existence..... all of the intelligent life in the universe got together and decided that humans were too dangerous to everything and everyone.... so they picked the earth to send us off too.... sort of like australia and New Zealand used to be where the brits sent their criminals.

now everyone take your tinfoil hats off and start hyping up the next nor'easter.

All I want to know is if there are any uncrowded point breaks that peel for 300 yds out there and when Virgin Galactic is going to start flying there.

Aliens being real does not mean there is no creator...who made the aliens?

There is a lot of good research and information on the origins of all life. The starting material for RNA has even been found among the stars. That is why most statistical data points to extraterrestrial life being highly likely. Now, I am not saying there can't be a creator. I am saying the creation was a lot more complicated than most organized religions claim. There very well may be a deity that created the singularity that lead to the big bang. There are a few ways you could look at things:
    1. All creation is random, from the start of the universe to the first living cell. Massive black hole collapses on itself, massive explosion, stellar dust and matter created, billions of years pass as these elements form stellar bodies, chemistry of life sees the right conditions for reaction, and badabing you have a living cell.
    2. All creation was jump started by an outside intelligent deity. God collapses black hole and starts the whole chain reaction.
    3. God made everything in a few days, and all the scientific discoveries over the last several centuries are merely trick to throw us all off.

Of course, there are many versions of each scenario that could be discussed, but that is the 10k foot view of it all. In my opinion, the first 2 are logical and very possible scenarios. Thus, believing in a god does not mean you have to be ignorant of science. It is only when we move to the #3 scenario, that we choose to throw science and data out the window.

Very true. And here is an equally difficult question to fathom: If there is a god, who created god?

Yes sir, and it is a good reason why that religion is a turn off to many. They are so hooked on details that they don't even fully understand, that they end up missing the big picture.

Religion for me is more of a set of morals, to be a good person, but to not recognize the scope of the universe and the overwhelming UFO presence is where the core of religious belief looses me.

I hope the UFO disclosure thing brings the truth forward. Like someone mentioned on here earlier, the truth about extraterrestrials might be able to destabilize a society and bring chaos. That's probably why we don't know for sure yet.

The Science channel has some really cool stuff on the creation of our planet and the universe. Everything on our planet, including ourselves is essentially made of star dust and space stuff.

I'm quite the nerd, and actually spend quite bit of time thinking about this stuff. They don't know how life originated on earth yet, but I think its reasonable that the basic biological building blocks arrived by asteroid or something similar.

I would agree with your statement. I think we tend to think of "life" only as we know it here on Earth or have seen in movies and grasping the how is not attainable at this point.

The Drake equation basically sums up the rate of star formation in our galaxy, fraction of those stars capable of sustaining planets, average number of planets capable of sustainging life, then takes a fractional value of those that might actually develop life, a fractional value of those that might develop civilizations (therfore intelligent life), a fractional value of those that could develop interstellar communication (ie radio signals) and after plugging those into the fromula at their coresponding places it = N, the current number of civilizations in our galaxy that might/should be communicating and therfore intelligent. This is an over simplification of the equation but gives you the idea of what it shows.

Keep in mind it has just as many detractors as it does proponents and is in no way hard fact but is meant to be a guide to general numbers of how much other life might be out there.
