No. I get all agro and shoot up some speed before I head out. Then I punch people in the face, cut their leash and tell them to go back to the valley. Then, I get in fights on the beach, go back to my drug lair, and get in shoot outs with the FBI. That my friends, is what it is all about.
Actually I'm a pretty 'Zen' guy whilst out for a surf. Very rare for Chavez to emit negative vibes in the water. Life be too short for that stuff. It vexes me so to see such looks of intense anger and disinterest amongst my fellow surf combers. I DO understand that the emittance of aggression at some places like Pipe or other breaks where regulation is a needed prerequisite. (Sorry, just trying to sound as smart as LB Crew)
Does surfing relax you? is different than... Is surfing relaxing? I think many of the respondents are confusing the 2 questions.
Like others have said, there is nothing else like the relaxation after a good surf. Whether the act of surfing is relaxing depends greatly on the conditions. If the waves are ****, or I'm surfing like ****, there is nothing relaxing about surfing.
Right on....I'm definitely, usually, in a better mood post surf...butt relaxing? Takes a special moment for that....ie, last year I was oot at the usual spot, February, cloudy, like western ny overcaste, and light wet snow falling, and it was overhead...I was the only one out, all the ski focks, suprs (no offense dsup), and summer pros, and francois, had apparently retreated...it was just me out, I couldn't figure it out - that was relaxing, that was peaceful Then some dude paddles up after about 1/2 hr solo some guy comes out and goes, "WHERE THE FOK IS EVERYBODY!?!?" Relaxation fades, normal fun session ensued, still mellow post sesh though
FrostyBigfoot, tell the trooth....you've attempted to wax that Yeti bod of yours, right? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iSXx_A5bhXA
not normally but here it can be if the swells are groundswells and then u have windswell mixed in between, it becomes a fight and a pain in the a.. just to make it back out
