An SI insider named "Chosen One," I believe, popped up on MSW and supposedly blew the whole operation up. Theories on his identity have ranged from Wayne to Chuck to ZaGaffer...

A new order of mods was undemocratically installed with the prerogative of maintaining surf-focused content. Other SI regulars cheered the day and looked forward to the new order. This is the dystopia in which we type today.

The ban-hammer came down, precipitating bans on SJB, Wayne, Roy, and some others, and the flood of infraction points trickles on today.
