I've been following this fray from the weeds and, probably against better judgment, what I have observed is this:

You've accused anyone that does not hold your views as ignorant, archaic, and hateful among other things. Not accurate, not good.

Thus, you have made a huge mistake in marginalizing ("pigeonholing") large groups of people. Did it ever occur to you that people may not agree with a belief, behavior or lifestyle, but still have the capacity to love and care for individuals with such beliefs or in such lifestyles? This happens all the time (i.e., to give a simple case, parents of a "prodigal" child). So you are incorrect in calling huge numbers of our population hateful because of the actions of some.

I am not at all offended by your views, and even the false dichotomies you seem to embrace, however, I think you might benefit if you widen your perspectives. You seem to be very intolerant and narrow minded, the things very things you appear to be passionate against.

If you continue this MO, you likely be called out as a hypocrite by the enforcers (i.e., KR) in this line up. I don't necessarily endorse all the "name calling", but most of us here have thick skin, and hopefully tender hearts.

By the way, IMHO, defending either major candidate is akin to an argument as to whether cat poop smells better than dog crap.

I'm sorry. We as a country are divided deeply along party lines and thats the world we have to move around in. If you support any GOP you support homophobia, intolerance, and environmental degredation. You don't actually have a heart if you vote for those things. End of story. You want a third party that is fiscally responsible and socially decent? I'm all for it and wI'll vote for it first chance I get. That doesn't exist so we have the deeply divided situation we have. Doesn't mean you sit back and let the 35% of the country that identifies as orthodox conservative screw it up for the rest of us.

Trump IS the GOP, if he was so anti-establishment he would have run independently.

 

No, he knows the system is "rigged". In order to win, you have to play the game. So he had to run as one or the other. Being that Hillary was probably going to get the Dem. nomination running against her was a no brainer. He's about winning, and that's the easiest path to victory, it's that simple. Once elected he can work on "un-rigging the system" if it's even possible at this point.

We as a nation are fantastic at assimilation of refugees from other cultures, it's why attacks occurred in Belgium and France, but not here. What koolaid? I just explained WHY he is running as a Republican vs. an Independent. You can't win this sh*t as an Independent, as cool as it would be, it isn't going to happen. So running as one would be futile and a waste of time. If you're going to run and go through all the effort, then you probably are going to want to win while you're at it. I didn't say that he's going to accomplish all the things he says he's going to do, but it's possible he does some of them. The career politicians are probably sh*tting in their pants right now, he's exposing the system for what it is.
