I know most liberals are the opposite but those same conservative echo chambers paint them as monolithic welfair recipient communists. It's why I was repeatedly told to get a job and get out of my mom's basement even though none of those things are true. It's also why I think the highly touted concept of free college is the dumbest idea ever, because I think for myself. I have yet to see anything like that in any discussion with conservative media or followers. It's the way the GOP handled politics this year and becoming the norm across all of the right wing spectrum and it's a distaster for the country.

One of the pillars of the lefts platform, free college, is one of the dumbest ideas ever.

Would a dogmatic follower denounce one of the most important features of the group he supports? I can't spin it, I can't support it, it's just foolish and pointless.

 

I'm not hard right but think we are taxed enough already. How about you? What rate would you like to pay? Say you make $100k....not sure of your income but would you be happy paying $60k in income taxes(shoot even throw in free health care for family of 4....roughly 12%)?

 

You can't be roughly objective. You either are or you're not. if you are roughly objective, you lean one way or the other. If even by a little. If you have skin in the game you can't be trusted to be a neutral entity.

This is exactly where I feel I'm not monolithic. I am a died in the wool social justice liberal but feel that we need massive government waste reigned in and a total overhaul to reduce spending. The divide is that neither party will do this but the GOP and Trump want to cut the highest bracket for the highest earners from 39 to 25. 39% of tens of millions is fine, they don't need a tax break and someone will have to pick up that slack. The other thing is most conservatives want to reduce that spending by abolishing agencies like the EPA or dept of commerce and this is just foolish. The Democrats basiccally won't do enough and the republicans want to do way too much. Bush didn't alter my tax bracket and Obama didn't either.

 

NEWS stands for North East South West, as in what is happening all around you and often also contains opinion in the form of editorial content. Fox is listed as entertainment with the FCC because they contain so little NEWS and so much opinion. It is quite literally the GOP news channel. You can't even hope to claim that any actual news agency does the same service for the democrats.

 

And I love our environment...so quit being a hypocrite and telling everybody to quit drinking Kool Aid and have a discussion.

 

let's think of it in terms of entertainment then. Can you think of entertainment sources, sources that people rely on to get there news from, that lean one way or the other?

 

I agree, you need to pick your battles and find your defining issues if you will.

I have trouble seeing the rights important issues through the fog of "Hillarys shriveled p*ssy" type non sense is my problem with this thread.

I truly feel fiscally and foreign policy the parties and the candidates are evenly terrible so I choose the environment and social justice as the flagpoles in my decision making. That's my thought process in a nutshell and I truly am curious and want to know how the decision plays out for you JayD?

Trump never said he will lower the taxes on the most wealthy, he said he will lower the business tax. The savings in taxes from businesses will increase more spending by businesses in the way of business growth, which in turn increases tax revenue.
Hillary is lying about this and people eat it up instead of looking into it for themselves.
BTW Hillary wants to increase the already overtaxed middle class. I pay roughly 35% tax. Any increase will hurt my quality of life. Either that or lay off an employee or two.
