The problem with Bush was not that he did not go to New Orleans, it was that he was slow to allocate federal resources while people lived in squalor and were dying in the streets, attics, the Superdome and other places. I've yet to hear that Obama has not dedicated all available resources to the current flooding in Louisiana. It is about action, not photo ops or visits that do nothing to actually help.

 

It really has more to do with the way the media covers it. The federal gov't does not do anything fast regardless of who is in office.
