I'll defer to you on anything stocks. I just look at all the things that i'm seeing and I put them all together in my head and make sense of it best I can. Just one man's .02 if you will.
It reminds me of the Japanese plowing money in to the Hawaiian Economy back in the 80s (I wasn't there but studied it a bit). Also, the US bond market has been a good indicator on how much the rest of the world values the USA (in terms of stability). I think a good healthy correction would be nice to see though....I totally agree with your premise on global flows into the US (and you point on the Fed in your other post...I think the same.) So, did you get blown out of any barrels in Mex???
Uh, yea it did happen under Obama, and it has been happening for the past 64 months of continuous job growth, the longest stretch of growth in the *history* of this country. Now if Trump can up the ante and keep it going, and maybe even increase the rate of job growth, then, awesome, I'll vote for him in 4 years.
Ha, not quite that on the barrels! Good OH surf a couple days in Sayulita @ La Lancha, fun conditions at the wave that never stops giving (Saladita) & then more goodness in Tamarindo, Avellanes & Guiones. Lotta tropical surfing in the past month, lotta fun, lotta laughs. No sharks, only saw one croc (from a distance was good enough for me). btw, a case study for capital outflow from one supposed power to another as people seek stability & security can be seen in what's going on in Vancouver, Canada. All the power player smart money in China is getting out of Dodge ASAP; the Chinese citizenry that can do so are ploughing their funds into res & CRE in Vancouver at all-time record rates. Buying places on the Internet, oft-times sight unseen. And over-bidding on the ask by hundreds of thousands of dollars. So much so that the average price for a res home in Vancouver is now north of $900k. A few Canuckian folks that I met whilst traveling through Saladita clued me in to this saga in their home town. It's causing a ton of tension, as locals can't afford to buy in Vancouver. I searched the Net for articles on the trend & sure enough, that's what's happening. All of which is just to reinforce the point that there is a massive global shift of investment money going into western investment vehicles such as res real estate, CRE & the American stock market. I'm of the opinion that Japan, Inc. of the 1980's was indeed a bubble, as history has proven; yet, this trend that we are in the midst of is not comparable to that isolated incident in a one-off economy in a very short period of time (aka Japan, Inc). Index fund! Sit back & enjoy the ride!
How odd that this isn't even mentioned in the NYT A Wikileaks envoy today claims he personally received Clinton campaign emails in Washington D.C. after they were leaked by 'disgusted' whisteblowers - and not hacked by Russia. Craig Murray, former British ambassador to Uzbekistan and a close associate of Wikileaks founder Julian Assange, told Dailymail.com that he flew to Washington, D.C. for a clandestine hand-off with one of the email sources in September. 'Neither of [the leaks] came from the Russians,' said Murray in an interview with Dailymail.com on Tuesday. 'The source had legal access to the information. The documents came from inside leaks, not hacks.' His account contradicts directly the version of how thousands of Democratic emails were published before the election being advanced by U.S. intelligence.
Nice...tropical goodness. One wonders why we do not seek the finer things of life constantly. I just finished Barbarian days(I recall not your favorite), it seemed during his travels he was searching (and finding), then searching again. Surf trips (outside of actually catching waves), keeps us engaged in that "primal" search for what we are looking for. Finding it, we may or may not actually identify in the moment but it sure is fun!!! Japan analogy is certainly micro in comparison. Interesting perspective on the Canucks!
Absolutely with you on the fun is in the quest Good memory on your part.....curious as to your mini-review / opinion on Barbarian Days?
I swear that isn't me in the pic! Although I can't claim no knowledge of the actual action, ahem, nuff said. Kinda looks like Frosty, aka Man Mountain
Not judging btw, enjoy your freedom Duder. So Frosty can't swim, but he can bang two broads at the same time? Not swimming seems so trivial when you look at it that way.
Frosty is attaining Legend status. That photo reminds me of the 'nightlife' on the north shore of the DR.
Busted! Muslim teen who 'faked attack by Trump fans' appears in court with her head forcibly shaven by her parents - after 'making up story to hide her night out drinking with her Christian boyfriend' http://www.dailymail.co.uk/ushome/index.html
A bit ironic that Obama is lobbing potshots at Trump over China, when it's Obama who can't even get China to release that American underwater drone that the Chinese seized...
I would have ordered a sub to sink the Chinese vessel immediately, and take no survivors. Welcom back yankee--hope you had a great trip. Mine to PR was okay, nothing great, but not bad. Surf was average height (shoulder etc), but I was hoping for 2-3 times overhead to be able to get out at Tres Palmas for the last time in my ebbing life......
