Oh my god..... that was epic at the least....I have major respect for that guy....

I do downhill near my house. Pretty good hill, smooth and not that much traffic... Every damn day too. After school haha. Heres my board:

Downhill is so much f'ing fun. Best remedy for a flat spell, or a boring day in the office lunch break activity. but it goes from borderline dangerous to absolutley catastrophic so fast and so often. I've come back to the office in complete tatters, with a collared botton down ripped with a huge grass stain from belly to chest. I put a crack in my shoulder last spring on a run that was way shorter than that on a twice as wide road. seems like the minute "OH OH" pops into your head, its too late. Still can't lift the coffee pot in the morning without wincing, but i always have a board and gear in the car, and I'm always marking good spots on the GPS.

    Thanks,
Im not though. The runs i'm doing are like bunny hills compared to the vid. I like a long run with a good pitch but with a wider road so i can still carve a turn at speed instead of sliding. I've only been doing it for less than a year and my slides end up in disaster. I originally got a board so i can keep up with my son around the block and just started pumping through the little inclines around my neighborhood and light bulb went off. I have all kinds of hills around where I work and can get a "surf" in at lunch. Named all the runs after surf breaks. J bay is my favorite, Its pretty long with lots of speed, a flatter section, double wide road with shoulders good for turns and speed bleeds, and an incline at the end. Thats the one i cracked the shoulder on. Had done that run alot but this time I just started like twenty yards further back than i had ever done and came into and out off the flat section way too fast for me. i came out of that thinking OH OH and by that time i was only going that much faster. I remember a wobble that was pretty much it. I got annilated.

That's why I stopped downhill (and skating in general). Woke up and couldn't remember what I'd done for the last 6 years. Pain is one thing, losing memory is a whole 'nother deal. It came back, at least I think it did. Who knows what is lost?

I would like to get a carver though and just mess around in the street.

I'm curious why he's wearing pajama pants. You'd probably opt for canvas or, at a minimum, jean.

Wow, that dude is nasty! Good work by him and helluva save at the end. Better than eating the front of that bus that's for sure. What a rush that must of been.
