and not on a surfboard is such a challenge, trying to find a hobby when its flat and can i say skateboarding is so aggravating and painful. Trying to have fun on a mini but need help dropping in. Obviously its a matter of committment but any other tips, strategies, etc.

Aggravating and painful, hahaha. Did you build your own mini and you can't drop in? Just ask a dude on the ramp, someone will help you. Skating isn't full of d*ck measuring meatheads like surfing is... that being said no one taught me to drop in and I spent a day making my hip very f*cking blue. If you pay attention to these tips you will be fine, however, as it's rather simple.

First off, do it on a ramp that's 3, 4 feet at most. Try it on a 5 footer and you will be feeling some pain. Put your front foot over the front bolts, back foot over the back bolts (tail on the coping, duh). Now you gotta lean forward and put your shoulder into it. All your weight has to go forward even though your mind is saying "no please don't hurt me."

Smack the front wheels down while following through with your weight, keep your knees bent the whole time, get ready to get low, and ride it out. It's really not complicated man. I've seen many a scared kid learn to do it with these very tips.

If you are really having trouble, just find some small embankment somewhere (steep driveway, steep hill, drainage ditch, etc.) Stand on your back tail and drop in on that, with what I said in mind. It's a piece of cake and when you do the mini you'll realize that is too.

Then you can progress to more complicated drop-ins like this. THE GNAR COMPELS YOU

That vid was spectacular. I was already amazed before he even made it to the other side, then the body air just sealed the deal. Dudes a hero.

holding the nose before and as you slam the front foot down helps to make sure you lean and don't hesitate. It's way easier than steep takeoffs in surfing.

Body parallel with the board , Knees Slightly bent and lean forward and push down with your front foot. Try Dropping in on a Slant ramp first to over come the commitment issue then move to a mellow mini rap or a 3 ft quarter pip . NWW , Sea Isle all have nice concrete skateparks
