I know that duck hunting spots can be as coveted as surf spots, but do any of you guys have any input on Duck hunting on asseteague or around the OCMD area? What kinds of ducks. best spots for public use? are they really crowded? I know this is a surf forum but thought some of you may have some advice.
im not to sure around assetague there but i know some really good spots around in jersey. ive shot an variety of really nice ducks down there especialy in the early season. black ducks green, wing teal, shovlers, pintails,ringnecks of course **** loads of mallards. Also brant all types of canadins and we were just down there for snows. i also hunt alot on the cheasepeake. I live in PA and we have killer goose and duck hunting around my area. nice rto see a fellow water fowler on here. if you pm me hook you up.
You can hunt waterfowl on a couple of islands that are in the bay on the backside of assateague. I have done it a few times and they were all pretty successful hunts. You'll mostly get brant, buffleheads and old squaw.
im big into waterfowl hunting. but i mostly hunt in the western part of md. i own a house in chincoteague and they always talk about the blacks and alot of divers, mostly buffies.
