Uh...Those are men in that picture, unless i am mistaken. They know better. They know what they are doing is wrong. They deserve a brief stint in whatever country's Third World clink they are visiting. That, and a nice fine too. Azzholes.

 

It's Australia. never been there, but dunno if that continent/country is considered 3rd world. if this pic came up in say Somalia, i don't think it would have blown up. but you're right, they're men who really should know better since Australia surely has environmental groups urywhere

 

here in charleston, ppl are enamored with loggerheads. a lil over the top tho. they got a lines of ppl holding signs when they are putting them back in the water. i mean they do this a lot, dunno why they have such a huge posse around here of support. it reminds me of the seinfeld episode when the doctor fixes the squirrel's leg with tiny little instruments, and asks george to feed it and care for it for weeks. just a bit over the top

 

This is exactly my point, so glad i didnt grow up nowadays. From the age of 15 - 25 I had no sense.

Yea if there was Facebook in the 70s blah blah. Well they're wasn't. But there is now. Hell I'm 27, Iv done plenty of dumb things and sometimes still do. But guess what? I don't post it on FB. Partially because I don't have any social media accounts. But if I did, I still wouldn't post it.

Are these guys idiots for standing on a turtle? Definitely. Do they maybe get a pass because everyone's done dumb things? Depends, in my option they don't because it involved a living/once living animal. But what really makes them idiots is the fact that they posted it. The 70s was the 70s and today's today. These guys knew the picture would be seen. They probably thought people would think they were cool or funny. They should be fined for that way of thinking alone.
