I recieved an email yesterday from surfer that said that the ASP has tentatively announced a new world tour stop on the east coast it didn't say where but i couldent imagine it not being here only because of the mass media that new york has to offer and they will be able to choose between the western long island area and north jersey. early september is the time they chose
That would be absolutely epic to have the ASP event in NY. Do you have a source? Otherwise, I smell some bullsheet
the ASP would LOVE to hold a CT event near NYC - it would be a surf industry marketer's wet dream. unfortunately, unless: (i) someone invents a macking wave pool; or (ii) they're willing to have a 4-month waiting period from july 1 - october 31, it's prolly never gonna happen. the consistency just isn't there. a 2-3 star QS event maybe, but not the CT. the ASP has a hard enough time staging events at breaks they're pretty sure will break (see Mundaka) to try and hold one that very well might not ever work.
