A NE wind wave is moving south. Its coming from the NE.... you know a south wind doesn't blow south right? Its coming from the south. Next lesson will be on tides

when u have to start talking about the fundamentals of weather patterns then u are just looking for excuses not to surf..

No excuses that is a dangerous path. Plus Cam surfing will cut down on your drainage ( that's what I call barrel time)

Honestly I feel like playing weather man is not something I signed up for, I'm here for the waves. I was dragged into reading low pressure systems and local wind patterns.

And honestly don't tell admin but SI is a beautiful system I hate surfline

Don't look at the cam just go

I can assure u I surfed a lot more before the surf cams came out.not even like theres a cam for anywhere near my spot lol but Il check the Belmar cam to get an idea of what its doing.and if its small in Belmar that means my spot is flat so no point in going.

as far as knowing about weather for surfing.theres only 1 thing that creates waves and its called a low pressure system.u can judge a storm to get an idea if ur area will get waves or not,

for example a noreaster coming from the southwest and say ur mid atlantic.if there is a high pressure system inland, say Pennsylvania, that means the storms track has to go out to sea, which means offshore which means waves.theres a lot more to it like the distance between the isobars and what not but I'm just stoned and about to get some food, just feel like killing a few minutes on here
