Nothing new here, big swell comes through, sand shifts, things change.

I just got back from a surf check. Reports were calling for 4-5 ft and building to a 1-2ft OH through the day. Low tide at sunrise. NNE winds at like 20mph. Close enough to offshore, but not exactly offshore. Just a tad off. Buoy is at like 10ft@8 sec but its an E swell.... supposedly. Hadn't really looked at the data. Figured I'd just check and let me eyes be the judge.

Not happy with what i saw. Granted conditions weren't perfect, but it still should of been fun. Checked the go to spot, looked ehhh. Not a whole lot of peaks. The meat and potatoes of the waves were closing then the shoulder was nearly non existent. Super fat and not peeling like it normally would. Could of gone out and got a few but didn't look worth the effort to me. Checked a few other spots. All looked way worse. Just went home. LB was probably the best choice, cam looks better than anything i saw this morning. But im on call today for work so i was trying to stay local.

I'm not saying this is due to stella. Could of just been things not clicking. Without paddling out its hard to say. But something was definitely off and i wouldn't be surprised at all if stella played a role in this. Going to have to give it a few more checks throughout the day to see if things come together.

So just wondering. Any one else noticing a change in there breaks since stella? For better or worse? And NYNJ or any other of you LB guys....if you get out today let me know how it was. Seems like it's they best bet today, especially for the AM

Just got out of the water at jmbl. Sand was awesome. Head high barrels all morning. You should have checked there.

stella...freakn stupid ass weather channel. I guess they aint all that dumb...anything to bring attention to itself for ratings...hurricanes/tropical, cool, I get that.

I really dislike the weather channel at times. Ever watch them with a reporter in a street during a minor hurricane? Making a big deal about a branch blowing down the street?, seriously a branch, with people somewhat walking casually down the street...sorry but they look like total idiots sensationalizing some things.

sorry for the derailment, just saw the name on post...yep, way to go weather channel...just venting.

and back on topic, that "Nor easter", not s****a, I missed it totally, worked all day after the blow. Wouldnt of paddled out anyway that morning...havent been out after the blow...not sure what our sand looks like, been working my ass off for up coming season. Plan on hitting monday and tuesday tho.
