r u one and how? r u like celebs?

http://http://www.mrctv.org/blog/quiz-see-if-you-know-who-biggest-hollywood-environmental-hypocrites-are

Do u own fiberglass and epoxy surfboards?

After running the numbers with average Australian data, the results clearly show the fiberglass surfboards to be the winner. Even with the fibreglass board’s shorter lifespan, the total impact scored only 0.5 ecopoints while the epoxy board scored 0.8. The epoxy board required much more resin and chemical hardener, which was the greatest contributor to the overall environmental impact due to its high freshwater toxicity potential. The polyurethane foam core was the second most significant impact for the epoxy board and the most significant for the fiberglass board due to its high global warming and terrestrial toxicity potential

do u fly to exotic surf spots?

Unfortunately, for all of you globetrotting surfers out there (I admit, I can fall into this category), think about this: just one round trip from Sydney to Bali is the equivalent impact of more than 35 surfboards!

R u really an environmentalist? How?

Never claimed to be one. Having said that, I freely acknowledge environmentalists are dirtiest classification of the human species. "Going Green" is the anthem of morons, such as their leader Al Bore.

Yes I am an "envirometalist". I like to play Slayer for the trees. Sometimes I throw in some Sabbath or old Iron Maiden. For new stuff Mastodon is good.

When the wind blows you can tell they are headbanging.

EDIT: Dammit kookamunga, you went and changed it you sly dog. I like "envirometalist" better.

tlokein - envirometalists seem like nice people

also, i always try to spin "sabbath bloody sabbath" on vinyl for the younger generation.

I Like vinyl because of its lovely environmental impact, and oddly because of its organic sound.

O barry

I would say your oil companies executives and their cronies in DC would qualify for the dirtiest scumbags. Now I'm gonna go hug a tree and worship some dirt.

Perhaps, but at least "my" oil companies pay great dividends, Green pays nothing other than pure "dividends of deception" which all the moronic greenies swallow whole.
BTW, gays can now marry each other....maybe you should start a movement to get equal marriage rights if you marry an Oak or a Maple tree...?? Talk about having a "woody"!!!!

Analog recording and playback will always be the ultimate in hi-fi. There's a reason why Dave Grohl pulled that Neve 8078 out of Sound City and built a studio around it. Also Steve Albini went from being ultra-digital to all analog with recording.

That being said I absolutely love digital recording. No way I could get done what I do today without it. It's just too efficient and easy to work with. And if you record at a high enough sample rate the average Joe can't tell the difference. Also the way everything gets smashed down into .mp3\etc. and such today it kills an analog recording, even CD formats.

Digi is still searching for that holy grail of lossless recording\playback. Maybe someday. Although everything still gets smashed if you want to put it out through any outlet. Can't have the volume in that playlist dropping, can we? No, too much trouble for the average Joe to move a finger and adjust the volume.

I've done plenty of all analog in the past. First thing I ever recorded was on reel-to-reel. Only way I'd do it now would be to do everything live in a single take for each song. Done that too. It's a real PITA if you're hardcore about. One f up and you scrap and start all over.

Great great album BTW...funny, if Tommy hadn't lopped off his fingertips Sabbath may never have gotten that sound...and kicked off all kinds of other bands.

I'm a walking contradiction. All you right wing oil barons can suck my balls. Wooden boards are cool but those who make them are nuts. I own and make fiberglass and epoxy boards for my own consumption. I do beach clean ups and water testing and hold those who pollute and crap and spill toxic chemicals in our ocean responsible for their actions. I think most surfers are far more aware about big chem and big oil than we get credit for. Oh,and all you right wing oil barons can suck my salty balls. Just put them in your mouth and suck them.

Yup. Lost his fingertips on his last day of work. Caused him to invent super light (.008) gauge top strings and also to do a drop tuning to make it easier on his fingers.

We'd take a big step in the right direction if we only used oil to make durable products, and not burn it as fuel. We could reduce consumption and demand by about 75% right there.
