ESA bodyboard contest in MD

ss is not for the unexperienced like chuck said, no comp could,would, or should be held there, its not a wave just any1 can ride or compete on. Most of u on here already kno about ss and its unique break. ocsponger u got the right idea, start it up bc i went straight into the aba when i competed and now ive been riding in the usba. i support u 100% for a bodyboarding comp in ocmd. best of luck and ill check it out. keep me posted ocsponger.

I may seem like I have been traped in a closet for the past year but, yesterday I saw that Brian Stoehr was in 10th place. That fukin awesome. He's right there with all of the best bodyboarders in the country. I got pretty excited.

I do remember riding that spot in 99/00/01? one of those years. I went out right into the middle of a contest, got yelled at as well, but i said screw them, what were they going to do there/ come out and get me? not likely...it was only a solid waist/ chest and more peaky then lined up or anything........but you know that spot, it sure turns up a pitch at the last second

So yes i do know of at least one contest that was run there just for BB's, but it is a bad idea........

Who knows when i am speaking of? what year was that? i know it was from the fall of 98 or later? I think I remember At least Stoehr being there, maybe, who knows I am getting old and all.......

It was just a guess. I think you go to my cousins school. do you know Andrew and Justin Canakis at worester prep. Anyway I was reading about you on some of the ESA stuff. your real good. I was thinking about doing ESA, but don't know if i'm good enough. Im only 16 so I could it, but I don't know. How good are the other kids that do it.

 

Maybe, I might do it, when are they starting it all up again, for this year.O, My cousins suck balls at bodyboarding. There not going to do it. cool to talk to someone that does ESA. Maybe i'll see you on the beach or something, what street do you go to.

I went to 48th street during the summer.

 

The RCBB contest was an all BBING contest that Micah & Steve O'Boyle put together. It was basically a locals contest that had a waiting period. That day was really fun early that morning before the contest & then the winds turned really hard NW-NNW making it a bit funky riding. Waves were really close to the beach, even more than normal . I actually won the trophy for wave/air of the day & still have it @ home; I think my son has it in his room now.

I can't remember if it was Brian or Colin that won, I know it was one of them. I actually hurt my back & hip on one fat ARS where I launched on a head+ wave & landed on nothing but dry sand.

Before that, the only other BBING contest there was the OC Currents contest that was really good & breaking like Dumps, but between the walkover & the jetty & breaking out farther than it does now.

I have competed at south side or thrown competitions there at least 5 times. Most of which being ESA in the early to mid 90's. the finals were with sickos everytime. And then I threw 2 awesome events with Micah. The second being the better for a contest. It's possible, but people...do a video comp like I prior mentioned. Comps are no fun. They are stressfull. Micah, will you put together a video comp?????? A one day event limits the riders. Everyone get a videographer-ivideo-a collection of great surf-and that will be a party!!!
