is the SSE swell in the forecast for wednesday from Andres? or even if it's not, will we see waves from Andres even though it's weakening and centered at a very steep angle for SD? what can i say, i just got a brand new set of K2-1 fcs fins, haven't put them in the water yet, and i'm being hopeful

Newport got pretty fun this morning from 48th-61st Street. Thats all i could see in the water. 2-4ft. Clean conditions and some quick Lil barrels and good Lefts. Right around 7:30 to about 10:00 and then the tide just pushed and the waves went to crap. Thought I share with you RideHigh

i'm heading to coronado to see if a south-facing beachbreak around here is churning out some decent size... this NW windswell is old and weak

ya, the SSE swell was from Andres, but it looks like it was just a quick shot, as that swell has been fading off the buoys.

there's no question that energy was out there though... the waves were thigh-chest high but dumping. i didn't get in because really it was just a bodyboarding wave, really steep take off and very short rides. as i was walking away a monster shoulder-high one made its way in but again dumped all at once right on the sand. OB is seeing ankle-thigh high only.

coronado just hasn't lived up to its normal punchy, hollow summer sandbars, it's kind of disheartening. coronado has been a refuge for me in recent years, a great crowd avoider when on since hardly anyone even checks it anymore.
