lmao. I remember watching Rad ages ago while chasing the bmx freestyle dream. My friends and I all had crushes on Lori. It's pretty funny thinking about that gay scene where they danced on their bikes together.

Occy the occumentary is probably my favorite especially since I'm goofy. I didn't like Drifter but I like Machado's surfing in the drifter sessions. Searching for Michael Peterson was good too.

'What really went wrong' was pretty great too.

I remember seeing 'endless summer' for the first time and the scene when they come over the sand dunes in Africa to see endless African tubes forming and reforming and reforming was an image that will stick with me forever. When surfers go to heaven, that's what St. Peter points them towards. And the only person out is Cindy Crawford in her prime.

    Just a few for ya:

    Turtle: Stay loose, haole.
    Rick: What's a haole?
Turtle: A tourist, a mainlander, like you.
    Rick: I'm not a tourist.
    Turtle: Whatever, Barney.
    Rick: What's a Barney?
Turtle: It's like Barno... Barnyard... a haole to the max, a kook in and out of the water. Yeah?

Rick: So this is where you work Turtle?
Turtle: Only when da surf's bad, Barney. Cause' when da surf's good, nobody works!

Alex: That's not a wave, that's a ripple. i've seen bigger waves in the tiolet

    And the best,

    Chandler: Go ahead, go shred!

I couldn't find a thread of the best surf scene in a movie, but i always can recall the Snake surfin as an Escape out of LA John-Carpenters-Escape-from-LA-tsunami-surfing.jpg Snake.jpg I wonder what kind of board he used to tackle a mini-tsunami? other movies you guys may have never heard of - i happened to stumble on them when i had Direct TV's 400 channels- are Cutback (Religious flick) and The Perfect Summer (Lifetime Original- based in Carolina Beach fyi). Those latter movies are not great by any means, but in the event that you're housed in a storm maybe you'll have nothing better to do

As cheesy as this movie is Big Wednesday was always my favorite. There is something about the feel of that movie that rings true to my memories.

I've said it before but it's Thicker Than Water for me. I also enjoy The Forgotten Coast, and The Pursuit.

    Point Break

Don't we all want to paddle out one last time instead of dying in a home/jail?

Not a ton of surfing in Surfwise but the story blew me away. I saw a movie in the 80's called Surf Nazi's Must Die. From the same people that made the Toxic Avenger, good stuff.

My grandpa dropped off some old VHS surf tapes that he had from my HS days. Some solid NJ action in What Exit? and Counterstrike.

I gotta find a VHS player now

I got the pursuit movie like the first week that it came out,i just went to the surf store to get a new movie and that was it.seen the gadauskus bros, fukin dusty payne, brett, adam, lol basically everyone that's on the ct now.this was my pre-internet days when I had to watch surfing on tv.i got dozens of dvds I don't even recall the names, havnt watched them in many years.

the internet really spoiled surfing,u wouldn't even know about half the swells that happened if u weren't there that day,now u see live pictures lol, videos from multiple sources..theres the swell all across the east coast,u can watch how it was in ny or down in florida or wherever.i don't get the same stoke tho as I did from my dvds

Gotta agree, I really try limit my exposure to it all. Other than my time on the forum, I don't really spend much time looking at much else these days other than the occasional DVD / Blueray.
