guess thats why he is continually sliding down the rankings.

Great event...kuddos to wilkinson...dude was so stoked when he won and was in complete rhythm with the surf.

Just saw on the news that ZooCee killed all the judges for not giving it to a Brazilian... And they gave Kelly $1,000,000,000 for losing to that kid.

I do want to say the conditions for this contest were great and all 'pro' surfing contests should wait for conditions like this contest

    Snapper - mediocre
    Bells - yuck
Margo - main break - ehhh the box - mmm fire
    brazil - yuck
Fiji - MmmmMm yes daddy like

J-Bay and Chopes next should be good, then some more mediocrity at trestles. France/Portugal can either be all time or worse than brazil and pipe is pipe.

main break this year was entertaining for sure. anytime it's overhead i can get into it. I don't need to see guys flailing on chest high waves. i can go down to my local and watch that.

this has been one really weird year on tour. there are no standouts just a bunch of grinders.

even owen, who was THE standout in Fiji has finished as follows: 13, 5, 9, 5, 1.

This was sick. I was stuck working and missed the final but caught up with some recaps ... awesome.

There's time's when you watch pro surfing and think, hey, why am I watching two men sit and bob around in mediocre conditions. I should get up and do something.

Then there's this, I could watch this all day.

That heat when Fanning got knocked out, when it really started turning on, that was awesome. It was nice to see the pros look human as they got hammered by massive closeouts, snapped leashes & boards, and got caught inside.

the Ottz close out was so so so good. he had another one in that heat that was about the same size but he traveled 95% of the wave until it went almondy and pinched on him but god it was so awesome to watch.

yesterday, which is actually today yesterday in Fiji, they are a day ahead lol,was one of the great battles of all time, some may say.but what got me,was the smartness of owen wright.just like how I talked about that Tahiti final between slater and medina.
    priority
    priority
    priority

I was actually rooting for Julian for the win,but he messed up so many times being impatient.i could probably be a world tour coach, not to teach people how to surf, but how to do a heat.i been watching slater and the best of them for too long.back when ai and bobby and dingo were on tour, those were the days.

anyway owen started off with that 9.6.julian was damn near combo'd from the start.julian had priority.instead of patiently waiting for the bombs,he takes the first set he sees, wipes out, loses priority, and pops up just in time to see owen steal a 10 right infront of him.if Julian would've waited,he would've won.same scenario for owens second 10.jules had priority, takes the first wave of the set,i think he made idk but it wasn't shyt, and owen took the next one and got another 10.

seriously u can be a complete kook like medina and beat somebody like slater by making them lose priority.its not how the surf comp should be,but it is what it is.instead of macking barrels, where guys are trading off 9s and 10s,its all about getting that first solid score, then holding priority.u see a set coming,u paddle like ur about to take it,then pull back at the last second, other guy goes, wipes out, then u take the bomb of the set.lol I probably know more about this shyt then the commentators and the bottom 44.just something I noticed over the years,it was always slater, selling mick and parko into the junk waves, but slater fell off.he just been doing bad and now hes trying too hard which is not what ur supposed to do.

its not about whos the better surfer, but who is the smarter surfer
