http://www.aspworldtour.com/events/2014/mct/668/fiji-pro They're running it. Looks like there's going to be a good swell at the end of the waiting period, so the final rounds will hopefully be all-time.
kind of a bummer they havent seen better and bigger surf. i just want to see these guys pull into some massive barrels for like 5 seconds and get spit out with all tens being thrown up from the judges. granted the turns have been pretty freaking incredible. the backside snaps ive seen in this event are the best i think ive ever seen. Just when you think these guys cant do much more on a turn, they do it.
wow, kelly really choked in the quarters. That quad was a bad idea. He started surfing really well when he switched to a thruster...but it was too late.
Andino killed it. Two Yanks in the Semis. The waves were super fast and tubular, great for a contest and all. No where near the cartoon like epic waves, was it last year's Fiji contest? Or was that last year's Cloudbreak contest? It's Cloudbreak right now at lunch time if you know my drift.
So true. We will need to remember this statement next time we have the usual quad vs thruster vs bonzer thread that seems to pop up every few months.
guess he wanted the extra speed to make it through those reeling tubes...and I'm pretty sure that's basically the same board he won it on last year
Cloudbreak is Fiji.... Don't even know why I read these message boards anymore. Pretty sure no one on here actually surfs.
i surf but i guess you'll have to take my word for it. the final is now two goofy foots medina/young. medina looks unstoppable.
Owning a board and sitting on it with 500 other tourists at the surfing beach in August while your girlfriend snaps pictures of you that you later use for your Facebook profile does not make you a surfer. I'm not some hardcore, locals only, guy. Anyone on here that knows me knows that. And I also understand that everyone starts out a beginner. But do not call yourself a surfer if you refer to the Fiji event and the Cloudbreak event as two separate contests. I also understand that following the ASP Tour isn't required to make someone a surfer. It actually has nothing to do with being a surfer. But I already know the type of "surfer" you are when you make comments like that, and unfortunately for this website and its forum, this place is overrun with "surfers" like you.
^well, that was uncalled for. Anyway, that super deep barrel won it for Medina...I actually thought Young's turns were more committed/critical
And we can tell what kinda "surfer" you are by claiming to know everything about pro surfing, you are splitting hairs with the guy, give it a rest. I don't pay attention to anything pro surfing or contests, but I surf regularly, like you said, it has nothing to do with surfing.
