Anyone ever have this problem. Got a chemistry beaker comp and for whatever reason, darn fins will not go into the boxes. I have 7 boards, all futures and don't have this problem with any of the other boards and never had this with any of my past boards. There is no resin in box. I can get get them into the quads but not the fronts or center. I guess I can just file down the fin. You can't even force them in if you tried.

sometimes a little resin of whatever doesn't get cleaned out of the boxes. I've had a couple boards where I couldn't get the fin in very easily...if at all. Now, I always check the boxes when I first get a new board. If the fins don't want to go in, there's probably some extra crud dried on the inside of the box...just scrape it out...carefully. Never sand the fin bases! Like DP said, fin fit is better too snug than loose.

Sounds like it was too hot a mixture and it warped the fin boxes a little bit.

Find out if its poly or epoxy for your own knowledge btw. Post a picture we can tell you.

    zagaffer is a kook btw.

My Future WCT's were too snug to fit, I sanded them down a bit, BOOM, tight like a tiger! PS. Boxes were clean

dont want to do that...then they may be loose in my other boards because they all fit perfect...like others have said, I prefer a snug fit.

Not sure how to answer that.

Different materials yield different results which are apparent to the trained eye?

Don't we all! HA HA They still fit snug in the V3 and my DDiver. In my case, it was def the fins and not the box

You can't. That is why it is always best practice to include pics of your wife/girlfriend/etc. It is also goode to know about her culinary skillz and relative stature for wetsuite fitment purposes.

don't be scurrrred to sand your fins a little if they don't fit. done it with several boards. just go fine grit and go slow, do not sand too much. like someone said above, better to be snug than loose.

don't sand the fin base, get a little bit of PAM cooking spray and a paper towel. Spray on the paper towel and wipe the boxes. They'll pop right in.
