It took almost 48 hours for one oz to soak in. i controlled for evap by setting an oz in the cup next to the chunk of foam, and that was mostly unchanged. According to my shaper buddy mike hague who sold me the foam, it is 2 lb. EPS and he said, like you did, that the foam maker said 2 lb density is a "target" not necessarily always achieved.
