waves all week but heres the question when will the clean up day happen? the water here is 71 degrees im trowing on my 3/2 sorry jersey type but i do out in 40 degree water, so dont go there with me.. i did go out in 50degree water one time because i couldnt find a glove....never again.
Not a full suite? I could see, maybe a 2 ml.shorty. Air 35• -45• here. My heart is not bleeding for you blasters, sorry!
The swell will start to filter in later today it seems. It will be blowing pretty hard all week until next Sunday, but maybe later this week early morning might not be as bad. Water is still warm, like 82.
82F is warm?? For us in New England that is once step away from boiling water, hot enough to boil an egg. We surf naked then....maybe a speedo for modesty?
I got lots of respect for you guys up north surfing in the cold. I read a good book by G. Gordinier called Surfing Cold Water, or something like it. He surfs In New England. He writes well too.
Sloppy mess out there, and the SI forecast is a little optimistic. I hate it when we have some size, but sh1t wind and short periods.
It's still borderline too small to ride as the tide fills in. Good time to teach a six year old. Tomorrow evening it may be so blown out, with an underlying good sized swell, that it will be treacherous. Not really fun. Maybe a couple spots will be sheltered enough, one short jetty easy access by car will be packed. The other long jetty not easily accessed by car will be less crowded and bigger with against the grain rights back towards the jetty the call. Lots and lots and lots of bait and bigger fish and starting to see a few spinners. The crowded jetty is in a park with lifeguards, the uncrowded jetty the cops would prefer you bleed out, so it might be prudent to surf with the crowd now that I have thought this all out. I don't think it will clean up until the swell dies the end of the week. I saw a guy out wearing a spring suite the other day and I laughed.
I just did some Googling on this topic and found this pic. The caption read: Modest Barry heading in to log the results of his most recent sand reconne. .
It's been a huge disappointment so far, but as a FL surfer, we are used to it. That's why when the waves are good, we own it!
